I can't even see what's going on!
It doesn’t really get any better. Especially with the mega cool events, like the dragons. This is one reason I don’t like dynamic events. There is no skill involved with these events. It’s like you said.. simple button mashing and hope that you’re contributing.
Most of the time I have no idea what I’m even attacking. The enemy is just hidden. I just fire at the mob.
I think I’m having the opposite happen. The last few days I’ve been doing events and either find myself alone trying to complete it, or at the most have maybe 6 people completing them. I admit I haven’t done any of the dragons in weeks. I have 2 characters one 80 the other 30 and on each of them I find sometimes I wait at an event in the hopes others come along to help or try to duke it out myself. Although I admit I see more participation on the level 30 char to the level 80.
It really depends on the server, area and time you are doing the event…
But in generell it’s currently true if you say “more players = less challenge” what shouldn’t be the factor… I really hope (and kind of think) that ArenaNet is aware of that because there has been quite a lot of feedback in that regard… So, the future will tell if the challenge is going to come into those events, at least a little bit.
And I couldn’t believe it initially, but overflow-servers aren’t that present anymore and as said, I don’t have events with akittenlot of players all the time, but it can happen from time to time. It was worse in the first 2 weeks, so I hope for the better in the future.
Events tend to have a sweet spot in terms of numbers where they can be quite be quite challenging to do and are a lot of fun. It’s just that currently many of them don’t scale too well when a lot of players are around. I’m sure that Arenanet are aware of the issues, but it must be apparent, if you think about it, that the issues surrounding event scaling are complex and hard to test, so it’s likely to take some time to sort out.
no it doesnt get better. In Orr’s Penitent/meddler camps, the mobs wont even be rendered/visible by the time they are dead, due to the spell effect spam going on from both people and bots, needing the tag for contribution and loot.
Its a fantastic zerg fest of fail :/
i dont notice this happening maybe a tech issue or a driver issue, i seem to have no issue at all rendering everything, now people killing things as fast as they spawn that is a problem and the scaling needs to be increased in some events for sure, as i am sure this is how they get bugged in the first place
