Issues With Temple of Balthazar
agree strongly, wouldnt care as much about the difficulty completing the event if it wernt bugged all the time…
seriously Anet either fix the bugged events or go to a daily server reset system at least
its really BAD when your players are looking FORWARD to the next maint

And I have to say I completely agree on the subject, I spend 2 months of my game time playing for hours non end and I now need 45 shards to complete the legendary, another guild member also needs 50 and I know least other 10 that want shards not to mention some people need the sets, the thing is getting desperate, some restarts on the server on daily basis should soften the blow, some of us can not ninja migrate to other realms due to guild obligations or because server is permanent full.
Or least make the temple NPCs available on other spots when the temples or events are contested so we can do our job.

If there is not going to be a fix in the near future i have to agree with the above posters.
There needs to be a fix asap!
Aside from bugs I think the main problem is people wanting to be rezzed when they die. Running back is much more efficient here.
I have never seen this not bugged on Sea of Sorrows. Legends are told of a time when it was accessable, but I do not believe them.
Pubbies would rather fail the event than spend a few silver to teleport and defeat the boss.
I would have one question about this event. I’ve tried doing it 5-6 times and we’ve managed to do it just once when I was exploring area for the first time. So being honest I wasn’t exactly sure what should I do. Later on I’ve never seen it completed successfully. But my main question is.. who should be focused. Should we start from the champ or from the boss. I ask this question because during the event I hear both. Some “scream” kill the abom first other say no, we have to focus on the boss. (I know that most important thing is to teleport to WP when you are dead and run back)
In my opinion the main problem is the instagib aoe move the boss randomly drops on you. One second I’m at full health fighting and the next splat dead without even a res timer. It has totally put me off repeating this event.
This has been bugged on crystal desert pretty much non stop for weeks. This event needs a serious redesign. AND the shards should be added to all the temple vendors and not just balthazar, this is getting completely ridiculous. Why is it only on this one npc? it makes absolutely no sense. Either fix the dang events, or just add the shards to more vendors. Its already bad enough that it costs so much just for one.
This is getting extremely disturbing, I DON’T care if this temple is uncontested in server X or Y, it was meant to work, simple like that, but it DOESN’T. I don’t know how one invasion team impact the others or how they work to take Temple of Balthazar, but I’m SURE that, once the assault to the altar is triggered, the team shouldn’t stop along the way.
Taking the pact to the altar happens TOO rarely in Sanctum of Rall without bugging, holding the temple even rarer, it’s blocking my progress, do fix it FOR ONCE AND FOR ALL.
Adding my agreement to the horridness of this event. Not only is this event bugged A LOT, it is also really difficult to do. The last escort to the temple is ridiculous. I’ve seen the mobs spawn and just nuke the npcs killing them all instantly causing failure. Or just killing a few, chipping away at the Pact Morale bar, which for some reason never goes back up, again causing failure.
If by chance you are lucky enough to round up a big enough zerg to get past the escort, well I’ve seen the boss destroy a group of 30+ players. Ugh. OH and there’s a timer on the event to defeat him WTF.
I heard that a smart necromancer can reflect back the AOE debuff that Balthazar gives to kill players instantly to kill Bal instantly too. Haven’t found a necro to do it though. Hope that helps somebody.

Man, I haven’t thought of that! It may be the signet that the necro sends their conditions to the target.

I’ve seen it done both ways. The important thing is that if you have a large swarm, the dead people need to run back. Having 20+ corpses just sitting there waiting for someone to ress them for 6 minutes is beyond idiocy. It’s easier to get away with ressing during the fight if the group is much smaller.
