"Once per day" or "once per 24 hours"?
I imagine the problem with once each calendar day, is that the calendar day is essentially different for everyone because of time zones. How is the computer supposed to know when your particular day ends and begins without adding to the extra amount of work it has to do? It would have to know when the calendar day begins and ends for every single person in the game. I’m sure it could be done but it would require an increased amount of computing power to keep track of all that. It’s simply easier for the computer to keep track of 24 hour increments for each event on each account. Once you do an event, the 24 hour timer starts. It doesn’t have to know where you are in the world and what day it is for you.
