That’s actually one of the things that kills npcs during escort in Orr. Champion jesters put a bomb on everyone, 1 hit k.o-ing npcs resulting in failed event 9/10 times

Scaling is a mess with various events. No incentive to open up the temples anymore.

Stupid Champ farming “embers” and mass zergs porting point to point for 5 min champ spawns.

Fix it to like the START of the game when the temples and Orr was hard but doable. We have tons of decent well done content that NONE of the newer players even know about due to the ease of ‘living world’ champ farming.

I had multiple 80s ask me today what Orr was, they couldn’t even find Sparkfly for the new champ zerg (rift) fest…..

What’s up with these new buffs to event champions without ANY patch note reference at all. Doing Pent/Shelt today and some of the champs where throwing out 5+ AoE rings with less than a dozen people here. We finally get stat boosts with various ascended gear and things just keep getting buffed to a ridiculous amount. I want to play, not die repetitively. Anyway, I’m sure it’ll get balanced out. It’s just very frustrating to learn about it the hard way, instead of the patch notes.

There were no changes to make any creatures harder than they previously were in the patch on Tuesday, and the damage on Veterans and Champions in the events using the new event scaling should be significantly closer to what was intended.

We’re still looking at the difficulty of these events, and may make more changes in the future. If anybody has played any of the events using the new scaling since the patch, feedback is definitely welcome.

try to do the escort quest on your way to Balthazar with more then 8 ppl.
The npc’s get one shotted and then the event is over (Failed).
Say if u make it to the temple (if u are that lucky) the npc’s get killed within 3 minutes of the 7-8 minute timer so u can start over again o_O

It is totally fecked for ppl who need the legendary shards.

At least a couple of servers are managing the escort per day (usually with organized guilds driving the group), but the event is still a little difficult. If anything should be changed, it’s the wells. Either reduce their duration significantly or reduce their damage significantly. That should make the event reasonably easier for some groups of players.

They have data and records about it that tell them how often Balthi is open on each world, … so they know there is something fishy about that. It is not that people don’t want to do it, but it’s just incredibly absurd to do.
Of course it shouldn’t be a cakewalk, but it also should never be a PITA…
It should be doable with a group of people like the other temples, why should Balthi be something special? It is just like grenth, melandru, dwayna, lyssa, … so they should make it to be on par with these temples.

Technically…. it’s much better simply b/c you can “mill” Obsidians into T6 mats.

And we need T6’s more than ever now simply b/c you sometimes have to Salvage 20-30 exotics just to get 10 dark matters. (really really awful RNG here)…. Or you have to use nothing but BL kits b/c anyone who tells you mystic kits get the same results, is ignoring the live Drop Data.

That still doesn’t excuse the fact that the actual Well-Casting animation is the same exact 1/4 second animation they use for the Fear. Something THAT MASSIVE and damaging to every NPC in range, should take atleast 1.5 seconds to cast and be completely interruptable. ….Same goes for those stupid Acolyte Veterans… I’ve interrupted them right at the beginning of their summoning animation and sent them flying backwards only to see 4-5 plague carriers spawn where they were standing almost a whole second later.

THOSE ARE TRULY A BROKEN MECHANICS. Skill strength / damage is all a matter of positioning in this game and we DO have some control over how soon the pact runs ahead directly into these wells. But not having interrupts function properly, or not given even a full second to interrupt, is a real deal breaker and a broken promise too.

I am also concerned that we just finally are seeing proper compensation for the amount of work in events and kills and now they are over-scaling everything. They finally after months drop the damage of Risen Nobles, but now others such as Risen Ravagers (who were already high in DPS) have been given even more abilities. Of course these weren’t listed in the tool tips. To have one of these mega champs spawn on us at Pent when there are only 4 people there is just plain stupid. Combine all of this with the karma nerfs and I can’t help but wonder if Anet doesn’t want us to even enjoy this game anymore.

Hopefully, they’re some kind of early sign that we’ll actually be able to purchase some worthwhile stuff again with Karma. Some people are sitting on millions of Karma points just b/c there’s nothing to actually buy with it. We ALL tend to just ignore most events infact unless the mobs themselves have drops we want. …All b/c Karma doesn’t even feel like a reward anymore.

there are orrian lockboxes that award quite a bit of money and rare crafting things like lodestones.

you can also use karma to gear up alts in exotics from the various temples.

Not fun to deal with certainly, but seemingly intentional. From notes in August:

This in addition to the now fixed no cap scaling makes the symbols far less insta death… to players. NPC’s on the other hand… Balthazar and Arah pre is very much doable, just kind of annoying.

I have to say that Grenth is in a very good spot as is now, compared to where it was a few months ago. Even after the no cap scaling glitch, people were a little hesitant to pick up on Grenth again. It’s now very much possible even with a small handful of people – Defeated the priest last night with only six.

I think they need to put some more rewards for events so people will come and play them buffing mobs with maybe 5 people in map is funny and does not make sence the game is dieing they should realy do something to change that ever since i started this game every update was not in benefit of a player its like they want us to leave the game i am a fan from guild wars prophecies and i love the game but what they are doing to it its terrible. I say to arena net focus on fixing the game rather then updating a new content make a game fun and playable not boring. everything that ppl do now is farm champions and play 2 dungeons witch is boring. They should consider rewarding daily stuff like the do 5 different events on same map u get some bonus and that for every map a day that way all areas will be playable. if any 1 read this thanks for reading i know its a long text…. peace

Any of the world meta events yields: Drops from the stuff you kill (including one or more Gilded Coffers, or their equivelent). An achievement style chest in inventory, and the massive-looking chest in in the world that has several items.

Giving me more stuff at an event will just mean that my inventory will fill up faster, and merchants are few and far enough between as is!

To be honest, it sounds like you are on a server that has not discovered the joy and value to be obtained by opening temples with a large Zerg. Many of the events become quite farmy when they scale up, giving many more drops than one could get in solo farming. Yes, you can open most of the temples with fewer than a dozen players (even, I suspect, Balth), but once you send in 40, 50, or 80 players, the drops become quite significant. More drops from the developers are not needed in my estimate. More organization on the part of the players however, would yield more drops for those players.
