Hi guys!

I made a video for you on how to get faster in Sanctum sprinter!

http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=plcp&v=EKCwxlVASZo

What I didn’t tell you in the video is WHY you should run this event, so here we go:

1. Chance on giving you skins to sell of to possess.
2. It’s super fun, I always end up laughing because the most bizarre things can happen!
3. Chance to give you rares from the magnificent chest.
4. Gives you karma.
5. Gives you money.

A lot of people are disagreeing with me when I tell them that you make great money in SS, but let me break this down for you:

You run 1 race in approximately 5 minutes and you get 10 silver/race. This gives you 10s/5min (1,2 gold an hour). And this is just if you are unlucky! There are a fair chance to get the catcher skins, that will give you an extra 4-13 gold (depending on what skin). And you also get rares from time to time from the magnificent chest. If you want to play safe mode you just sell it, or you salvage it and have a great chance to ~3x the money (ectos). You are also always guaranteed 1 rare every 15 run (“rare lootbag” from achievement)

Hope this helped someone!

Although i agree some money can be made while enjoying a fun activity there are few thing you didn’t take into consideration. Firstly, although you ran a race in 5 minutes or less you will still have to wait until the last competitor finish the race. So, that is not in any case 1.2 gold per hour more like 0.9-1g, which is still decent. (I tried leaving and reentering the SS but that would usually just return me to same race so this is not an option) Secondly, you are talking about drops from chests like they are common when in fact they are not. I ran a little more than 30 races and i didn’t get single rare item in the chest (I am not even sure that is possible. have you had that kind of drop?). Finally, skins are very rare drops and as far as i know most players didn’t get them including myself.
All that said, i will repeat myself from the beginning. SS is nice way to make some money (and karma if that’s important to you) while playing Mario kart in GW2

You actually don’t need to wait for the last competitor to cross the line. You just need to cross it, get the chest, and the credits for the achievement will also apply the moment you cross it. Then you just leave and start again, on a different instance probably, but sometimes you will end up on the same instance with the waiting counter still on the go if there are just a few people running the event at the time.

You only need to wait everyone if you want the achievement for 1st place or the one for being one of the 3 first competitors to cross the line.
After you get these 2 achievements, you can just farm runs and chests and make indeed good gold and items.
Personally, i just run about 30 times also, and didn’t get any skins, but i do got rare loot from the chest.
Using this “trick” of leaving the instance aftergetting the chest, you can easily make a run in about 4 minutes, and thus about 13-15 runs per hour.
Doing 13 runs in an hour will grant you 1.3 Gold just from the coin rewards, not counting the items you get.
One can farm CoF Dungeon for more gold for example, but risking not getting a party, or failing, etc.
Not that SS is the best way to farm gold, but it is easily the funniest at the least.
Perfect for when you are waiting for something and is not sure what to do while in wait for example, or to get that little coin you need to buy something fast enough

hm, really? I am positive that you got the money instantly, seems that Brunobyof is agreeing with me.

Also, it wasn’t my intention to refer the drop rate as “high” on the magnificent chest. It’s the same as any other chest (I guess?). But last time I went SS I ran 15 times and got 2 rares, so that’s not much but it’s something^^

My intention of making this thread is not in how much money you can make in particular, I just stated that you can make money if you are lucky enough! The main purpose was to hopefully help some people out!

The SS is a good way of making money but not the best! Just wanted to break it down on how I see the possibility to make decent money on it!

Thanks for replying!

I can’t use the Sanctum Sprint as a gold farm because it’s buggy. There have been times when I was clearly standing on an aspect mural, pressed the appropriate button and nothing happened. Then, because nothing happened, I ran straight off the edge. Then there are particular spots where the wind aspect triggers but I don’t jump. This usually happens to me 6 times in a row. And then there are the times when I get knocked off but don’t fall to the bottom so I have to jump off the edge on purpose. I can’t even begin to tell you how embarrassing it is to go from first to 9th place, not because of other players but because the controls just don’t work as intended. In fact, I’ve never gotten a first place win, even though I’m almost always in first place for the first half of the race.

I love the concept of Sanctum Sprint. It reminds me a lot of Mario Kart but, until it’s properly fixed, it’s too frustrating to play for anything more than achievements.

I know the feeling! As you can see in the video, it bugs for me aswell! And I hate when you fall down but it wont reset so you need to jump down all the way to the bottom.. I hope they will fix the bugs (and I’m sure they will)! Also love the concept of it!
