Scaled up event
Temple of Melandru in Cursed Shore might be the challenge you are looking for…the last quest was visibly scaled up, and has a considerable chance to fail now, making the armor harder to get. I’d compare it to Temple of Grenth now. o_O
Second on Temple of Melandru. Bunch of Veteran Spider Hatchlings kept everyone busy. lol
Try the temple of Lyssa. That one took considerably longer than before. That and Melandru certainly scaled much better than previously, they are certainly no longer as easy as they were. Grenth seems a little harder, but I think that might have been sheer number of noobs.
Lyssa is insane now. Champions everywhere. And that gorilla… Got insta killed by it over and over because suddenly I was hit by some attack for 30k damage.

I seriously got 3 tiers of my veteran monthly from Melandru. It was awesome.
Champion Risen Drake Broodmother became insanely hard.
As an expected result nobody is killing it anymore.

I’d like to think they just don’t want people to play there anymore. I don’t want to think that they are that bad at game balance.

lol I am with you on that. Maybe they want us all to flee from Orr. If that’s the case they should make tier 6 mats drop in more places….

Aside from the obvious of Grenth, I hear Lyssa is terrible now too.
I’ve only done Melandru twice since the patch, and neither time seemed particularly difficult… though both were not during peak hours. a sea of Veteran hatchlings yes, but they didn’t hit too hard, nor were too hard to CC.
I find it odd that they reverted back to the original version of the Melandru Legendary fight.

If upscaling of events from now on will mean oneshotting mechanics, then goodbye GW2. Never been so frustrated with anything before in this game, as I was when I did the Lyssa encounter today.

Yeah, there are no tactics/skill involved when you’re one-shot. Especially in world events when sometimes it’s difficult to even see if you’re going to get hit with everyone else’s skills going off and littering the screen. And culling being a problem still makes one-shotting enemies even more unfair. How are you supposed to dodge a one-shot attack when you can’t see the enemy doing the attack because it hasn’t/isn’t loading yet/at all?

They don’t test anything.
It’s sad to see MMO developers destroy their own game with untested experiments. It’s happened time and time again and they just keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

The flying champion boss where you farm sparks have been boosted to crazy levels as well, compared to before. Why are they doing this? You’re only making the gameplay experience worse for your players by implementing changes like these.

They don’t seem to know what they are doing at the moment.
The champion illusion gorilla at Lyssa had our entire zerg getting sections of it repeatedly one-shotted, and this was AFTER the priestess died, this one gorilla was tearing us to pieces. Champion wraith at Shelter Gate is stupid as well.

I used to solo it before, it was often up as nobody was killing it.
I just spent around 3 hours trying to kill the new version.
I’m stopping because it regens up when it uses its vanish ability.
I can cope with the frustration of my deaths but not with bugs like this.
All players who tried to help me died.
I saw a lot of groups passing by, farming, they didn’t stop to do the event.
Nobody is killing the Champion risen knight.
Veteran spider hatchlings (unlike regular hatchlings) dont even drop loot. WTF Anet! we get to fight 5x harder mobs and now they dont even drop loot. are you kitten kidding me?
The new veteran chickens of Malchor’s Leap’s event became very nasty.
But before that they were really too easy.
Now you better have at least two players to do it.
This event is now properly tuned imo.
You just need to learn the new attacks of the mobs.
But why making this event harder if you don’t increase the rewards?
Less players will do it now.

(30 minutes of intense keyboard clatter later, boosting mob abilities and stats to insane levels…)

They probably don’t think there’s anything wrong. Yet.
Developers save money by making the community test their changes in live environments instead of testing them on a test server.
I think the only thing we can do now is not go to Cursed Shore; which is what i’m doing.
To correct what I said earlier the Champion Risen Drake Broodmother of Cursed shore is doable, but it just became so difficult that most players don’t kill it.
I soloed to around 50%, then a guardian came to join the party.
After a long and epic fight we prevailed and we each looted a blue item.

ArenaNet isn’t stupid. If events are being messed up and made not fun, I’m sure ArenaNet is completely aware.
However, some of their updates such as this do come off being unpolished. So when justified, we should pretend they are incompetent, simply to pressure them.
