Hello friends!

So I’ve been working on a new build for my ranger? And that settler’s gear in Southsun is just what the doctor ordered. Unfortunately, NO ONE is in Southsun anymore. Not a soul. I checked like, four servers. Empty. And the events reset just as quickly as I can complete them. Is there any way for me to get the settler’s gear from Southsun? It’s unlikely I’ll be able to get my guild to go out of their way to do these events either.

I’d suggest looking at www.gw2stuff.com and check in regularly to see if it’s clear somewhere. Otherwise I’d try and get your guild to clear the area and get the Karka Queen to spawn.

Thanks for that. I didn’t know about that website. Just checked it out. Very informative, and considering how new it seems to be, it has a lot of potential. I just looked up the event a bit more. After all four villages are saved, do I then have two hours to buy this armor from that point before it resets?

All the camps have to be safe for the merchants to sell the exotic items. The problem with this is, by the time they’re all safe, one is about to be attacked again, giving you only a few minutes to access the vendor.

You’ll probably have a very hard time accessing the vendor unless you can find an active zerg in southsun doing all the events.

yes the karka queen event has big problems that where masked by having 70 + people farming with 200 mf. no one does karka queen anymore and no word from anet on whether they fix the problems.

Think the main problem is the game is full of people like me who see a new update elsewhere and think ‘ooh Shiny’ then run off en masse like the good little sheep we are.

That wouldn’t be a problem if the events actually scaled properly.
For example the eggs/nest in the northern camp respawns so quickly that you basically need one person sitting on each. There are 3 or 4 of those. Then you need people to kill the other spawns.

Ive been tracking this event for like about 2 weeks now on gw2stuff..the closest I got to it was off by 20 min but by then all the kitten settlements were contested. Hell I even tried to do it with my guild but the settlements would be contested faster than we could clear. And all for a freaking settlers pistol.

Did anet really not twig to the fact that this would be an issue?
