I do not like whinning, but I just wiped 4 times at this even, the NPC party was always oneshotted by massive aoe after leaving rally waipoint. After checking gw2status I found that the temple is closed everywhere.
Looks like nobody is able to do it.
What are your experiences and opinions? How to get the NPC team past the aoe?

yeah exactly like he said i was with them the whole way and we tried 4 time from the beginning and failed 4 times the whole zerg got one shotted the npc moral got one shotted … i mean come on its a groupe event the whole server was there and failed in one shot thats not possible in any way … i know its been like that for god knows how long and i’m not sure if it got bugged or harder after the patches but i think and we all think that it should be doable " a group event like it should be" and if there going to be any actions taken it would be very nice

It’s not bugged, several servers had Balthazar open last night. I think the high pop servers will do the event after reset, but I seldom see it open during server AM time.

As far as doing the event goes, what you need are a few experienced people who know when and where the veterans will spawn. They need to sit on the spawn points until the vets materialize so they divert aggro onto themselves and away from the NPCs. Be especially aware of the Veteran Subjugators as they are responsible for most of the red AOE rings. As soon as they spawn, it is important that you use your cc abilities to knock them away from the NPCs. There also should be a few people dedicated to keeping the NPCs buffed and healed up. It helps if you have a large group of people, but a couple of weeks ago, I made to the foot of the stairs with only three other people. I don’t know if we could have made it all the way with only four as a large zerg joined in at that point, but I think it’s possible.

few experienced poeple ? oh you had it all figured out …1st i didn’t say the event is not starting or frozen and buged means alot of things not just that but im not here to judge …and you said we need to know when the vets going to spawn …like … are you for real ? the vets spwn when the NPC gets to the right place which is the place that the vets will be swpaned and no matter how u knock them down even if u knock them skyhight the red circles u were talking about were always under the NPC and i wasn’t kidding when i said we were all one shotted ( not even fight to survive ) and the npc bar was down just like that in a blink of an eye and i wasn’t kidding when i said that we were alot of ppl devided into 3 groups ( groups made of 30 ppl not 5 ppl ) every group had it own commander and we had the perfect timing , the perfect chat system and cooperation , "experience " and fire power …..and if thats not enought for a simple group event i don’t know what is .

and a little advice next time some 1 wanna act like a pro please try to go to the event with a few of experienced poeple and see for your self if it’s doable or not then come back and talk the talk.

Yes, this event IS that silly. You are expected to memorize the spawn locations of the enemies and then aggro before the brain dead NPCs can commit suicide on the AoE.

Due to changes from the last patch partying up might also be a bad idea. At least for the “healers” since healing party members will take priority it might prevent them from healing the NPCs enough.

Jeez dude chill out. First of all, I was responding to the OP who said “Looks like nobody is able to do it”.

The vets don’t spawn right on top of the NPCs. They spawn a little bit away from them, pause for a second and then start running towards the NPCs. What you need to be doing is to be standing on their spawn point and hit them the second they spawn. The worst thing you can do is pack in tight around the NPCs. That just invites the vets to drop their AOEs right on top of the NPCs.

For your information, I have participated in this event many times, probably at least once a week since as far as I can remember. I cleared it twice last week on my home server of Dragonbrand and I did it two nights ago when I guested on Blackgate.

The wiki overstates the effectiveness of the Veteran Risen Subjugators, as does the OP.

Balth ain’t easy.
Early on, in wave 1 you have about 3 points where these can spawn (random).
Wave 3 has another 3 points, and then you have the ambush site, where one of the waves is a slew of nobles from behind that can fail you in 10-15 seconds if you don’t catch them.

Then, before marching up the ramp to the temple, the pact stop at another point where the second or so wave has another 3 or so potential Veteran Subjugator spawn points…

After the ramp, it becomes technically difficult. The Subjugators before here were hard in one way, but now the game hits you with large spawns from multiple directions all at once, tacking on environmental damage, and its very easy to be in the wrong spot, or camping the NPCs to bring fatal AoE to them, or out of place to catch any of several spawns.

Balth ain’t easy, but its far from impossible.
Look at it as a challenge. Guest over to servers that complete it regularly, see how they do it. Know that at any one moment you need players filling 3 or more independent roles. Learn those roles and bring them home to your server.

I’m not keen on the Subjugators insta-failing the event , but I welcome the difficulty level. I’d simply prefer the failures to be more gradual, at least give you the time to see that something is terribly wrong before the event has failed.
