Teq No Credit
Yes… Can someone in Anet please look into this? I’ve talked to many ppls and seemed to happen randomly.
This really makes me mad since I get to play an hour or so and ended wasted all the time for NOTHING. I’ve been opening the chest about 4 times a week or so and this started to happen to me within 2 weeks or so (happened to me 3 times including last night). I usually switch weapons between melee and range to make sure I put damages. Please fix this issue.
Thanks,
P.S. I am in JQ server.
Happened again tonight. Just want to know why… Pls tell me why =(
This has happened to me quite a lot as well, although it mostly occurs with Teq, I have had it happen for Jormag, Fire ele, The Frozen Maw and the Shatterer. I have eight lv 80 characters (leveling people keeps me going in this game), and so I usually leave them spread around Tyria and load them up when a world event starts. Though before I continue on, I first want to state that I am absolutely positive that I am hitting the boss of the event (Teq, fire ele etc), and normally I am there for the entire event-I do not start attacking in the last ten seconds that the boss is alive, now with that…
When I do not receive credit, although a bit annoyed, I switch locations with another character and try the event again within the same server-day, but this only works 50% of the time in terms of receiving the chest and credit with that other character.
Can ANet please confirm if whether or not leaving a character in a certain place to do the local event eventually bugs it out after a few days to where we no longer receive credit for that event.
An example would be if I leave my mesmer in the area of Lowland Burns waypoint to participate in the Shatterer event once a day, and leave her there and only load her up when the Shatterer will be up soon and do this for several days, does doing so eventually lead to something in the game that prevents me from getting the rewards on say the 3rd day, or the 4th day of doing the event?
If this is not a bug, but is something intentional, please at least let us know what the limit is that we can do event “X” with the same character sequentially.
Here is another thread of the same problem:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/events/No-Credit-for-Dragon-Events
My experience matches Avatar’s pretty much. My guardian is stationed in Sparkfly Fen and when Tequatl goes active, I swap to him and do the event. Usually I load in right after the event starts and consider myself an active contributor to the event. I attack, rez players, buff others; I am not just tapping the dragon to get credit. I almost always get full credit for the event, but the past three days, no bonus or big chest afterwards. I am pretty organized about doing the events after dailies reset-I keep a log, so I don’t repeat the same event twice in the same daily period. I’ve had similar problems in the past with both Tequatl and Jormag, but never this many days in a row before.
I’ve bug reported this, but was curious if others were having the same difficulty and this was the most recent thread I could find on the topic.

That’s what I figured out…. (short: don’t let the same character camp at the same boss without doing anything else in between)

Sounds like diminishing returns. I used to think I was bugged on certain events too, but it’s DR. It hits fast and hard with world bosses.
Doing things in between doesn’t always solve it. My experience has been that you have to make sure you are killing things that are not the same “type” as the world boss. In the case of Shatterer this means killing nearby branded usually doesn’t count, same with undead before Teq, or only doing the portals before SB, etc.
If you are getting the chest despite camping then I would check and see if you’re sure you’re not unknowingly killing additional mobs, like the Inquest around Golem will actually offset DR and it’s easy to kill them without trying during the event.
Basically, your options are:
- Go out of your way to find different types of enemies before the event, try to kill as much variety as possible to be safe.
- Don’t park a character at one event, bounce it between two nearby events. I have one alt that goes back and forth between Teq & Golem, another that goes to Maw & Jormag, another that goes to Fire Ele & Wurm, etc.
