Teq needs to be instanced
Yup
15 character minimum
Agreed, but I doubt the event will be changed.
In EU, Desolation is your best bet for a kill, but it’s impossible to get into the main server. One guildmate told me he got his kill after waiting over 3 hours to get out of overflow and into main, and that was a quick wait.
I’m sorry, but when I buy a game, I want to play it, not be forced to wait or queue for hours.

Worst thing is that they add daily achiev for doing him.
Worst thing is that they add daily achiev for doing him.
For the daily, if you want to do it, all you have to do is kill a risen and then wait in the Pyramid or wherever until the timer runs out.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
+as many ones as I am allowed to give this.
I think bringing back the daily was an attempt to get pugs all together again, which unfortunately didn’t work. Of course, you can get the daily even though teq fails (I am standing in the corner in sparkfly fen as I type), but actually bringing back the daily made me realize how bad this event needs a feature to help people get organized.
I know anet seems to have a thing against instanced raids (too WoW-like? too elitist?) but Teq is even more elitist than an instanced raid right now, since you need to be “in the know” to get a good group/guild. If not an instance some kind of better LFG or queue function is desperately needed.
The problem for Far Shiverpeaks is the following. We have been doing the event on our server with everyone who wants to join and it has worked out. However now we see more and more people that just show up to be either AFK or that are there to just do their own thing. This makes the event even harder for everyone who is actually trying to get the event done. Honestly if this keeps up I do not see another way but to purely do tequatl on overflows or by having everyone serious about the encounter guest another server. Honestly I dont think this was intended, but it is kind of too bad that a few people can destroy the whole event for everyone else. The turret fix has been an improvement but as the event is right now people just wont bother anymore.
Yes. It’s simply not being played as an open world boss. The way it’s being done — by going into an overflow — is the same as instancing. Anet should just formalize this to make players’ lives easier.
Exactly this.
The reasons and limitations that led other, older games to put
their hardest raid type content inside instances are still present in GW2.
Thus players work around the provided system and try to hit overflows
that essentially become pseudo open world, instances.
Players should have control over when they start the event and who they
do the event with.
For the open world there should be a normal version of the dragon event,
of mild difficulty that will be easily accessible to every person in the zone.
Innovation should not come at the expense of quality and although the
actual Teq event is great, the way it is made accessible to the player is
rough and inferior to the older model.
