Guild Wars 2

Hi all,

Using the new APIs from ANet (thanks guys!) I’ve made a simple page that checks which temple and which dungeons (CoF/CoE) are uncontested on which server.

The site is still under construction (was designing a guild site but the API diverted my attention haha) so it might look ugly but the information is there.

For example, to check Lyssa availability on NA this is the link:

It should load under 1 second but sometimes the server lags so it might take longer. Don’t spam refresh please if it takes a while to load

The following are checkable:

Dungeons

Citadel Of Flame
Crucible of Eternity

Temples

Grenth
Dwayna
Melandru
Balthazar
Lyssa

None of the servers, both EU and NA, has Grenth or Balthazar open.

I know Balth works because I saw CD say it was open (on forums) and it reflected that on the script.

CoF/CoE also tested to completely work. The temples as you know ‘rarely’ open so harder to test. I think that the data should be all correct though, let me know if any errors thanks!

This post is not directed at OP’s efforts, but ANet:
Isnt it (the short form of “is not it” with an apostrophe is getting censored. W. T. F.)? kinda time to abolish the “contested” mechanic? It by now really is 100% dependent on players being oblivious to the fact that one can just look up on which server the temple/dungeon is uncontested, and then freely and quickly transfer there.
When I first heard about the guesting feature (that was in maybe 2009 or 2010) in GW2 I was excited, but in it’s current form it really has done more harm than good.

This is a useful resource for shoppers in light of free guesting—thanks. It is, however, a sad statement on the state of the game.
