The mere existence of this thread says there’s a serious problem developing – the Orr maps are becoming ghost towns and completing tasks impossible for the casual player. Half the Orr skill points have group challenges permanently in residence at them.

I saw the temple of Balthazar open up on Fort Aspenwood over the weekend and I litterally chugged every drop of liquid kharma I had banked and ported down there to collect what shards I could before this miraculous event passed me by. Having an alternate method via the fractals is nice, but its dried up the interest in Orr even further. Map completion is looking pretty grim if you don’t have a 20+ member guild in your pocket.

Temple is uncontested on Kaineng as of 5 minutes ago.

Well, I just transferred to kaineng and was in the middle of buying the shards when suddenly the event came up to defend the temple, i was the only one there and we ended up losing the temple, i was literally about 30 seconds away from obtaining the shards to craft sunrise and now I just got blocked and have to wait another week. I am REALLY pissed right now since I spent months gathering the mats and now I have to wait another week because of a terrible design decision by ANet? Really? Why the hell are these shards not available anywhere else, I really don’t feel like playing anymore, this is depressing.

There should be a vendor in Lion’s Arch selling obsidian shards until Balthazar bugging outs get fixed imo.

Any server have a uncontested balthazar? it is the last part i need for my second legendary! thanks for the help if anyone knows.

I just rallied a large group at kaineng to take it, but unfortunately the central meta event is bugged and we can’t proceed, this is absolutely ridiculous, I have been completely blocked from crafting sunrise for at least until the next patch or until i can transfer servers.

Just uncontested in Desolation and I got my legendary. Never again for me….but anyone who still needs shards, it should be open for the next hour or two.

Are you sure it was uncontested on Desolation? The southern reinforcements are at the exact same location they were this morning :-\

I’m also very interested to know where it is uncontested. Yesterday I was unfortunately half an hour to late for shards on desolation.

Sorry for the silly question, but what is special about the temple and these shards? (I’m too working towards a lgendary, so any help would be helpful.) =)

You need shards to create mystic clovers and to create the gift of mastery.

Is this the best thread to post/organize a server event to open the temple up? Or is it advised to create a new thread and possibly share event success in here?

Don’t want to step on anyone’s toes… but it’s about time to open this bad boy up. Been watching this thread to see about the transferring servers to get my shards, but kinda goes against my ideals and will rather rally the server (and all those chasing there legendary for a server & multi guild event). Hard to schedule without impact to wvw atm, being so close. Still planning.

The biggest problem with rallying the server to do the event is that you’ll probably gather tens of people, get all pumped up, and then watch one of the events bug out and stop the entire undertaking in its place.

Going in knowing it can bug out, and with a couple things to try to unbug it. Socializing the message to ensure everyone who attends knows it may bug out is a start. Not going in with a fear of it bugging out, just means no way to spend that karma. I know there are many large guilds on my server and players alone who need to dump out some karma, so I’d like to at the very least, give them all a shot. I’m fine with socializing it and drumming up the numbers and healers (sorry I meant dedicated support roles that are responsible for healing the npc’s- politically correct?), just want to know what’s the best avenue, here or create another thread?

I don’t want to de-rail what this thread is to be used for out of respect. Is there a running list of current bugged servers (because I only see 2 servers in the bug section that are actively unable to open)?

Feel free to share you knowledge Hexin, im 12 shards away from my legendary and this NPCs doesnt move.

You’ll likely farm those (in fotm) before we run it (looking at this weekend Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon). We’re on Darkhaven and the event is not bugged (was) but we pulled the risen to kill off the npc’s and completed it last Friday. Why didn’t I share this? (because I found out when I got home from work on Friday 6:30pm, that they did it at Friday afternoon before reset, and it was contested once again so I missed the boat).

So going to go ahead and get a second group for those who work 9-5 PST jobs and were not able to attend. So proactively I’m going to tally up our primary guilds, and socialize it in all major maps for everyone to plan for (the last minute things never work for working or family guys & gals). I’d like to get this kicked off prior to then, but want to provide ample time to everyone. I’ll post on here if we are successful, so those of you who have the unfortunate bug lock and pending your shards can try to get in if we are successful.
