Upcoming Sea of Sorrows event for Aussies
It’s 6am for those of us in Queensland.
From my experience one time events don’t matter so much if you miss them. They always start 3am WA time for me and I will never miss out on sleep for a game.
There was a ‘one time event’ for the Mad King halloween thing… but it was actually just the opening/starting time for that particular event.
So I wouldn’t really worry too much about it
P.s I’m from QLD too.

In all likelihood it will just be another short cinematic, but it does worry me that it mentions a “one-time event chain” that will run for several hours. I missed out on the special Shatterer/Branded ending for BWE3 due to time differences, and I’m pretty certain we’ll never see anything like that again.
from Hong Kong here, should work out to be… 4am for me, if not mistaken. the question i have mainly though, is if the “one-time event chain” is really ONE event chain that will take the whole couple hours to complete, and not the same event chain that runs over the course of several hours, yes? i guess they named it one-time for a reason.
and i guess a part of just doesn’t want to miss that. why must i feel this way lol.

If it like the Mad King cinema then there is less to complain about, but since they said that it’s a one time several hours quest chain, it really isn’t fair to the rest of the world who are sleeping/have work.
I know the reason for the cinema being one time was because Anet knew it would just pop up on youtube and ruin the “surprise.” I can understand their sentiments but for actual content, why not just make it reliant on local time?
People will still complain that it’s a bad weekend for them or that it didn’t run for long enough time, but that will always happen. And people will post things on youtube/blogs/the gw2 wiki/etc. but at least more people will be able to participate.
The only major issue I see happening from this is people who go an look up info from an earlier time zone will be at an unfair advantage, which I can’t really think of a good workaround. That’s most likely why Anet does it the way they do. Still it isn’t really fair to the rest of you on the other side of the world.
