So I was wondering why, as I wandered around Cursed Shore, the Warmaster Chen event was always stalled. I happened to catch it at the start so I joined it. I was the only player. We get to the camp — and to say there was a “mob” is to understate.

It was ridiculous. Clearly this event doesn’t scale, since I was the only player involved and I get a dozen Risen Nobles thrown at me (and an Abomination). But seriously, I wonder if this is doable even with a party. It’s one of those “squad morale” events, and you know how well NPCs survive those in Orr.

It’s things like this that just discourage an Asura, you know?

Lure them out, take some out at a time then go back again, it’s what I do. For the stages beyond that though, you absolutely have to have a group.

I will roll a noble as soon as the class is released lol. The symbol/shadowstep combo spell is amazing. I didn’t mind A-Net upgrading Orr mobs but they could have updated the Pact npc’s intelligence at the same time.

They should either get rid of that shadowstep/well spell, or get rid of Risen Nobles completely. Especially that Champion strolling around the skill point near Shelter’s Camp. If you can’t stealth or distract it, you can’t get the skill point. Bad design.

Noble was inspired by gimmick contagion necros from GW1 I guess. Anyway, it’s called “group event” for a reason. You’re not supposed to solo it easily.

The problem with events in this area is that everyone is busy farming the loot events rather than doing these. There’s noone to do this event with when everyone is running temples or plix (spelling?).

When you’ve finished escorting warmaster chan, if you link the event in the chat people normally start coming. Then when you capture Shank Anchorage, that’s when even more people start coming for the epic part of the event chain. Escorting him isn’t too bad, it’s just the next event where you’ve gotta take two of those things out with a ton of embers trying to roast you followed by a boss literally immediately after which is problematic.

For some reason during the Shank Anchorage part the event bugged out last time I tried it. I reported it and so did one other person but 3-4 hours later it was still stuck where the party was about 50 yards outside the waypoint near the little area where the event starts.

It’s not a group event. This is the only part of the chain that is required to complete it that isn’t a group event and it’s the only one that will ever get failed. The rest is just an easy ride.

Edit: just went at it with a group and got exactly the same result. There is no way to prevent the nobles from using their symbol and no way to save the npcs once it’s cast.

Ok, I’ve tried this today after the little maintenance thing and it’s gone from being a pushover to risen noble spam.

Yeah, I have no idea how this is meant to be completed.
