everyone bots, especially you
Seconded. Also love when people say “I can report you for saying that” or even better just “reported” for god knows what reason, even if they didn’t really and it’s just a joke.
Im sorry your unhappy with the status quo and many players are too
Botters contributing to the community, that’s a fantastic point of view.
Griefing/harrasing botters, now thats worth its own weight in gold. =P
You could possibly turn /map off,and just rely on your guild chat.
Masterpyro, don’t worry about it mate, let others report,Anet can retrieve logs for just about anything they need and false reporting is an offense, not sure what the punishment is tho.
Oh i know that, I would rather they do it and get banned for false reports. Most of the time its kids thinking they’re cool cause they can report you for being mean. I just don’t want to hear about it from them lol.
I’m curious, is it by random guessing, or firsthand knowledge that people become so adamant about alleged “bots” … how can they tell within a few minutes what is a bot with 100% certainty? If false reports are punishable, I bet anet has a “punish list” a mile long for this reason… if they enforce it x.x
edit.. my name’s on it i’m sure, been way too casual with reports looking back on it (it’s just so easy with the option right there to assume your first observations are enough to cost another human $65)

edit button gone… im saying I’ve been too liberal with reports by the way, not going to local/map/whatever chat for hours trying to grief someone -.-…
Don’t fret about it ericade,it will all work out. =)
Without active GMs you cant be banned without collected and revised evidence.
With the current setup,as far as I can see,Anet have to revise logs of all who are reported first and in case of no evidence such as yourself,it’s a non event too your knowledge.
Edit: Just caught your edit/post =P
Still, dont be bothered by it on your behalf, you only did what Anet suggest to do.

Well at least some bot programs are easily recognizable they teleport all over the place.
And they are all cookie cutter looks. I’m at Hirathi and see a dozen people exactly the same, with different names. Easiest way to tell is multiple toons in the same spot without a guild that look the same.
a lot of them are guilded. They also buff MF with food.
Yes, they’re still botting/exploiting – they all teleport (I know some classes have this ability, but less than a 5 second CD? Come off it..)
You can tell a person is botting when… as I have done… you see a character shooting a bow at nothing for minutes on end and then when the event he was waiting for starts he targets closest and keeps shooting, targets next closest and keeps shooting… event ends. he’s still shooting… you log off and go to sleep for 8 hours. log back on and he’s still right there shooting at nothing…
I think people get frustrated and spam about botting because it feels like nobody is listening to them. You can report and ‘play the game’ only to see the EXACT same thing exampled above, still happening 3 weeks later. The only difference is that the guy shooting the bow is now wearing the most expensive armor dyed with the most expensive dyes.
That’s frustrating, because it means reporting is useless. And it means that I played hard to earn prestige armor… that isn’t so prestigious after all.
Personally, I don’t see the need to spam chat about it, that’s equally pointless. So I do actually agree with your point… just play the game. Ignore the social side and just play it like a single player game. Or.. get in a good guild with serious players.
