Dont you dare!
I’m also really hoping that they are not in the chests. I really tired of the RNG bullkitten.
Please give us a keyring…
What happened to the good old days when content updates came with content rewards? Now we have to buy everything from the cash shop instead of earning it in the game (gold grind for gems ain’t exactly a fun way to reward content).
If GW2 keeps going down this road, a lot of people are going to be better off paying a monthly fee and getting access to all the content in addition to a rich a rewarding gameplay experience (instead of game content which is stripped down of rewards so they can instead be sold in the cash shop).
Well, that’s the model Arenanet chose for that game, and it’s quite a shame indeed, a needed shame I guess to not have any monthly payment, but still.
I miss the times where rewards were coming from the implemented gameplay instead of relying on a gambling system which anyway hates me.
I know I will never get one of those tickets to get a fused weapon skin in the BLC, and that’s why I didn’t bother to buy some keys to try.
Still hoping they will implement a free AND NOT RNG ticket at the very end of the Flame and Frost storyline, in maybe a big event like the one of the Karkas.
Hoping too much maybe.
I agree with OP, please don’t… I wasted 100g last time, it takes TIME to gather this amount if you don’t play TP, and you should know that not everyone knows or enjoys playing the TP.
I will so buy Rox’s bow day1 if I can buy it direct. Please let me buy it direct, no more gambling. There’s already a slew of F&F gambling, surely a few guaranteed weapon skins couldn’t hurt.
I would definately prefer to be able to get the content from in-game (be it through quest reward or even Mystic Forge recipe) but if it must be a gem-store item, at least let it be a direct purchase.
I understand they have to make money…. I understand you can transfer gems to gold… What I don’t understand is why you can’t buy one single weapon, armor skin, or anything that is about Flame and Frost outside of the gemstore. I buy gems all the time and I’d be happy to buy them if I wanted them, but I think it’s getting kind of ridiculous.

Agreed. this is my one BIG BIG grip with how the Gem store seems to be going, yes I know its not PTW but man it would shore be awesome to be able to ACTUALY WIN some of this stuff for doing content.

Yeah, & not have the things you CAN get be a 1 year time-gated investment

Yes, there are plenty of F2P games that do not sell what should be quest rewards in the shop. These other games make plenty of money selling costumes/pets/boosts/etc and don’t need to cheapen their own content by selling quest rewards instead of giving them in-game.
Don’t you dare putting them in the Black Lion Chests again Arenanet or i promise i’m deleting this game!
That would be a disappointment. I am not sure why they did that for the Molten Alliance weapons but hopefully they have not seen a significant increase in Key sales from the gem store.
I read from the Dev Josh (creator of SAB) that their goal is to offer weapon skins that are available for a short time and then never again so it adds a level of prestige for the owner. That was handled well for SAB because you had to do things inside the game that was unique to the event to earn it. While Bram and Rox weapons will be sold in the gem store my hope is that other weapon skins that are just as unique and impressive will drop OR be for sale via tokens from the new temporary dungeon.
It’s bad enough GW2 fails to keep me interested, but stuff like this will just make me stop playing forever. Tired of this Gem Shop RNG stuff.
