F&F gauntlets are awesome
Glad you like them. Personally though, they absolutely don’t fit the theme I have for my characters, so while I’ll still use them to save on the cost of crafting an Exotic glove one day, I’ll be transmuting them to a more pleasing appearance.
What I’m wondering is why so many people hate it? :S
I think they look GREAT, but are not good for just any character. You’ll have to have an outfit that fits with them stylistically. I am saving my ticket for whenever I get around to making an Ele.
These gauntlets are absolutely perfect for my SE armor flamethrower wielding charr engi!
Sorrow’s Furnace
They’re sitting in my storage gathering dust. I seriously can’t find an armour set that goes with them.
Gandara
They look nice, but don’t really match with anything, which sucks.

Because a) You can only have it on one character on your entire account, and
b) The only people allowed to get it are the dungeon-runners, since there isn’t any alternative way to get (or at least get credit for) the cutscenes that complete the achievement track.
I haven’t seen much complaint about the gloves otherwise. Kind of a shame really—if they looked horrible, I wouldn’t mind so much being locked out of getting them and having totally wasted my effort and participation for the last couple of months.

Why not do the dungeon?
Most of my characters have long sleeves, so they’re cut off :/ That’s my reason for not using them.

I quite like them, and plan to use them on my asura ele… But she has long sleeves on her robes, so most of them are hidden. I need to find a look that works with them.
On my asura engineer I was using the medium dredge gauntlets, these new gauntlets were like a straight upgrade.
I was about to start making PVT gear and am glad I got the guantlets. Will be building the rest of the armor around it.

Why not do the dungeon?
Because it’s a dungeon and forces you into a group, instead of providing options for both group and solo players like the old GW1 storylines gave you?
Vulpis, I’m not big on dungeons either. I still did this one with a pick up group, 3 thieves a ranger and a mesmer. It went fine, people would get downed but no one got defeated any times until the final fight. Even then, after 2 or 3 party wipes we didn’t have anymore wipes.
Edit: My point being, it’s really not too hard of a dungeon and doing it once won’t be bad unless you get a terrible group.
I’m also of the opinion that the gauntlets are pretty awesome. They look great even with armors that aren’t necessarily a match, like Draconic Armor or Armageddon Armor.
All i wish is to chose the color tone of gear particle effects *e.g. blue light on Crossing, Green flames on CoF and pink lava from gauntlets* for them to be awesome, till then ill keep the npc spawn item.
Too bad I’ll never get them. Can’t get 4 other players to run MF. Oh well, at least TES Online is on the way. I just have to suffer, wandering about Tyria, pretending to be a glorified NPC until TES is released.

Oh no, a group. Boo hiss, we hates the other people, yesss.
It’s a single story dungeon that takes far less than an hour to complete. If you somehow don’t know a guild/have friends who’ll run it with you, just pug it. You have a half or better chance of getting with a good group.
Dungeons are great and don’t get much love from Anet, this is a change for the better. You can’t expect something to be made a cakewalk because you’re scared of playing with others for half an hour on a massively multiplayer online game.

I had enough of the ‘5 man dungeon’ in WoW. I don’t want to be forced into one here. If I wanted to run dungeons, I would still be over there.
And it doesn’t matter how long it takes to complete, the fact is the whole storyline can be soloed and then they spring the 5 man on you at the very end. It’s wrong.
4 days ago, I loved this game. I couldn’t get enough of it. Now, because of the 5 mans at the end of F&F and Personal Story, I can’t stand to log in. Being mocked by that “Defeat Zhaitan” and “Flame & Frost: Retribution” in the top right of my screen makes me feel like complete and utter garbage.

Ehh… okay?
You know guilds are everywhere, right? And that there are plenty of friendly, competent ones who’d be quite happy to have someone else to do a dungeon with?
GW2’s intent was and is to encourage player interaction. I find much more enjoyment when playing with (decent) others. If you don’t want necessary multiplayer content, I really don’t know why you bought a game centered around it. =s
@Scumbag Mawile:
I don’t join guilds. That’s another thing I had more than enough of in WoW. I never joined a guild in GW1 and I’m not going to start now. Guilds are nothing but a means to frustration and cause you to hate people.
I just want to finish my storylines alone and in peace. Anet won’t let me do that. So, I have nothing left to do in this game. It’s over for me. I’ve reached an impasse. All I can do is just bide my time until the next mmo is released.
I’m glad other people like them but I’m disappointed with the gauntlets. I doubt I’ll ever use them.
I wish I could trade my ticket in for the mini I’ll probably never get because I dare to have a life that prevents me from grinding a dungeon 24/7 for the few days it’s available.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I like these new gauntlets! But I am unsure on what character to use them on myself… I have so many that could use them. I might just save them for my Charr warrior once he gets a few levels… although they might fit my Human elementalist as well, or maybe even my Asura Engineer. My Norn guardian could use them also… hmmm…

I would recommend you do not do that, it is a unique piece after all
Get them and let them stay account bound, then you might use them later.

With that attitude you might be better off leaving GW indeed. I am not trying to be rude, but if a game cause you frustration and anger, that is a bad thing for you. Take a break, play some other games and come back later if you want, your account will still be here. Its just a game after all, don’t let it eat you up!
I often just solo things myself, or run with a few friends, but I have pugged the Zaithan dungeon, and the F&F dungeon. And you know what? It was not as bad as you make it out to be. People are generally helpful and friendly. It was actually pretty fun, and we had some epic fights. Do I agree on making 99% solo and the last piece a 5 man dungeon? Not really, but that is how it is and I just roll with it. I still had a blast, and the F&F dungeon in particular is not that hard anyways.
And another thing, you cannot expect ArenaNet to make all of us happy all the time! Yes, they might do things you do not like now and then, but then again many others like it. Pleasing everyone is simply impossible and only a fool will try to do so. Really, if you want a game you can be 100% satisfied with, you need to get single player games, in an MMO we all need to take some of the things we do not always enjoy with the things we do enjoy. Like the real world in many ways, we all share the world and have to allow others to have their fun as well.
