Well… 1-2 week ago I gathered 15 keys and bought additional 10 (25) more – no weapon skin token.

Today I spent 8100 gems for 90 keys plus ~24 from BLC (~114) and got NOT A SINGLE skin token… so so sooooo sad and dissapointed I will never buy any more gems for any “chance items” it’s just a waste of my money.

Now I’m sad… almost 140 BLC and not a single skin token

As long as people pays for keys they won’t.
It’s like you own a casino and somebody tells you “hey, quit making money off people with problem gambling!”, would you quit?
This, of course, doesn’t mean I approve this kind of things. Instead, I too despise it. kitten money.

anet won’t stop the RNG chests because of people like you, who give them money
for bad business practice. some might call that “stupid”… just saying

I agree completely with Crovax. Quam, you decided to spend a bunch of money/gold to get a lot of black lion keys and it didn’t work out. You have learned a lesson but there are 1000’s upon 1000’s more just like you who have not learned this valuable lesson and these players will take your spot.

The only way to make a change is to not do it in the first place. If you happen to have a few keys from questing or drops, use them. But never spend a bunch of money/gold you don’t really want or can’t afford to lose. More often than not you will end up on the losing end.

I would like to see the day that things change but unfortunately it probably won’t. It’s the nature of man..

I’m sorry to hear that but hopefully you did learn to never gamble again in this game, the rng is against you and you will definitely feel bad when you don’t get it. I learned my lesson too during one of those events with special skins in the black lion chests and I will never spend real money on those ever again.

And for you think of it this way: Even if the only thing learned from this experience is not to bet on rng again, then at least it wasn’t a total waste of money.

It makes me sad to think other people will fall for this too, for next event we should be putting up warnings for everyone to see.

The least I can do is to now warn all my friends and guildies never ever try it like that and to be aware of trying.

It is gambling and you have to approach it as such. That is, you say to yourself “I have this much money to throw away, let’s see what I get with it.” … and then you DON’T spend any more.

Personally I decided to buy 15 keys. I didn’t get the skin with that, oh well. However, a few days later I got a key doing map completion and I got one with that, yay.

Been There Got Singed- bought 100 keys and no ticket
Been There Got Burned-bought 200 keys and no ticket
I’m Toast-300 keys and guess what, no ticket.

I have opened about 100 chests so far. I have not spent any real money nor gold to buy gems for keys. These were all received through in game play and farming. I have 1 ticket so far to my name. I’m trying to eek out a 2nd before they stop dropping (even though we don’t know if or when).

I have never nor will I ever buy gems with real money. Sorry to disappoint Anet but there are many people like me that play this game even though the business model is set up for us to buy more things. Here is the reason…I will not pay $10 for an additional character slot, $22 for a server transfer, or $50 for some keys that give a “chance” to get something out of an RNG chest when I can buy the entire game for $50. I hear stories of people spending upwards of $250 or more on gems just for a chance to get a single item skin. Why does any of the player base find it acceptable to spend the same amount of real money on a single item skin as a new CPU or GPU?

Until people stop doing this Anet will just continue to operate this way. If some people are willing to shovel money their way, why would they stop taking it? I don’t blame them and I highly doubt they will change, after all they are a for profit business.

However, I would love for Anet to try an experiement. Next content update, create some great looking weapon or armor skins. Then, place them in Black Lion Chests as well as being able to buy them outright for gems. I would be curious to see how many they sell outright vs. the drop in the number of keys sold that month.

The drop chance through RNG is ridiculous, I have opened over 150 chests with no luck yet having gone through my entire gold storage and actual gem purchases, all this work for a “prestigious” item makes me feel cheated if I can’t get one through all this effort and a guy can open it on the second box because it is entirely luck based, and time and real world constraints bar me from farming enough to try to open more boxes. I would like to see something in the form of leeway to get more chances at this Anet

I got 3 keys from map completion and bought 1 key with gold and got 2 fused contracts shrugs i see no issue with this.

It keeps the skin rare. I like it.

By reading both comments I’m confused.

I’m starting bit by bit to dislike the GW2 rng system becouse of such randomness.
You farm Dragons and other “chest” events for the precursor and get literally blue/green crap as a reward for Your time and effort. 7 months and still nothing.

Same thing goes for fractals, You do higher level fractals and get crap 3 months in a row.

It is a little bit demotivating that You try and try and try and try and get crap becouse You are unlucky and it’s all rng. Others come once and ta-dah exotics/ascendent or even precursor yay!

It feels wrong this is my first MMO in wich I’m starting to feel like there is no reward for Your efforts it’s sad… keeps me wanting to look for something else where I will be rewarded… I don’t want 10 exotics every hour but maybe ONE a week please ? I don’t remember my last exotic drop was… 4-5 weeks ago ? Maybe even further.

I spent a majority of my gold and 10 bucks for 10 keys in total. I got 4 more from BLC and literally the last chest gave me a ticket. I had expected not to get one, usually i do not get lucky by RNG, this was the first time. Will i do it again? Most likely not, chances are too small. I have no problem with spending ingame gold though.

I have a question though… Is it still possible to loot theses tickets in the blc? Or is it too late now? We got no reply so far.

I opened 130 chests and wasn’t able to get a single ticket. Please, Anet, keep the tickets available from the chests — having them be from the Black Lion Chests only AND at such a low drop-rate AND account-bound only (unlike the Halloween skins which are still accessible now through the TP) made this situation even more demoralizing.

Or at least tell us whether the ticket is gone forever or if it can still spawn.
