I might be mistaken since its been a while since I made my female Charr and I’ve never made a norn (though at times I have browsed the creation options for them), but I don’t recognize the hair and horn styles the “lead” NPCs for the event are using. New customization options, perhaps? And if so, hopefully player-usable as well?

Also, the weapons look potentially new too. Never seen any of them before, nor did a quick gallery search on wiki turn up anything looking like them.

Mace looks… I dunno. The top half looks kind of cool with the beast heads, but the handle looks goofy and the whole weapon overall is a bit large. Shield looks pretty nice. Both the shield and the mace seem to match, so possibly a new set based on animals with glowing eyes? If so, I like that idea.

Bow is super hard to see at that angle, but looks like it has a pulley or something on it. Definately doesn’t match the mace / shield, so maybe a seperate weapon set. Machine-based weapons aren’t that unique, but it does look a bit different than the others.

2 new weapon sets, one for each group that you can help, perhaps? They do seem to somewhat match the races.

Thoughts? Or anyone want to smack me in the head and tell me all the items / hairstyles already exist to make me look stupid?

The norn’s armour looks new, I don’t think that exists in the game. His weapons are definitely new. The norn hairstyle is new, I think even his face isn’t able to be duplicated (possibly even his body type – most male norn necks are very fat and make the head/chin almost merge into them, this guy looks more human by comparison).

The charr’s armour I recognise. The chest is the first tier of crafted armour (available at level five) the shoulders are either the exotic karma set or more likely the WvW invader’s set and the rest doesn’t seem to matter (gloves, boots and pants for the most part all look the same on a charr). I don’t recognise her bow (I didn’t even realise it was a bow at first – it’s a terrible screen shot) but it also looks new. I don’t know anything about female charr hairstyles.

Maybe they are going to introduce two new dungeons with armour and weapon sets corresponding to the dungeons? Although given ArenaNet’s current trend I wouldn’t get my hopes up, dungeon sets can be earned in a reasonable amount of time. They seem intent on super grinds gated by calendar days for everything these days, so if we are able to get them, expect some convoluted difficult to obtain method (not difficult content, just lots of loop holes, grind and real time restrictions).

One thing I know for sure is that Charr’s face is too cute and cuddly for a Charr. >.>

in Guild Wars 1 all heroes have a unique style (hair, armor, face), and I missed this in GW2.
They want these heroes to be remembered and this unique appearance helps a lot. I see no problem if our characters can’t have this armors/weapons.

I think a rigorous character customisation feature that holds nothing back from the players is far more valuable than NPC exclusive customisations and armour. That hairstyle and the armour the norn is wearing would make a lot of players very happy. How many people do you think care about unique looking NPCs comparatively? There are plenty of NPCs which make good use of mixing and matching armour sets in the game to create looks different from most players.

I’m always a fan of more options, especially when the options Braham appears to have are more polished and unique than the ones the player was given (norn customisation falls woefully short compared to humans).

I’d argue the other way around for women. But yeah… I’d definitely like to see Braham and Rox’s unique looks available. Even if it’s gemstore only.

Wow, cant tell you how much i would LOVE to see new skins. As it stands the last few releases have been about fixing PVP/WV3 issues. The PVE “content” they have been dropping is more like a smoke screen if u ask me. i mean really, a handful of new npcs in LA, some signs to run around and hammer, and a freaking easter egg hunt for someones lost contact lense?… whatevs. with that being said it’s only been a few months so we can’t expect a bunch of new stuff. I am happy with consistant bug fixes and improvements. (cough cough, culling in open world pve…) Though new shiny stuff would def be something to get excited about.

From the screenshot… it’s pretty easy to see why her warband abandoned her. I can only imagine waking up in the field with those huge green eyes staring at me.

It looks like the Charr version of the Overly Attached Girlfriend meme.
