Same. I ran it ~75 times and my exotic drops were:
5 Sentinel’s Intricate Gossamer Insignias
2 Sentinel’s Orichalcum Imbued Inscriptions
1 Recipe: Infinite Molten Berserker Tonic
Literally the only thing I wanted was the mini and I didn’t get it. Huge disappointment. If I can’t get a drop I want without paying an obscene amount of gold for it then either something is broken or this is no longer the game for me.

I couldn’t agree more. Things should been obtainable without farming yet the only way to obtain them is to farm but ANet doesn’t want us to farm so go figure. Catch 22 FTW! If you want something, sink your IRL money into gems and convert them to gold whilst ANet screw over the rest of the player base.

Nope you’re not. I got about the same. I did get the endless recipe though, which is worthless as well (which probably because of the required ingredients to make the thing). I really miss the SAB reward structure. >:(

The ones from the Wintersday Mystery Boxes:

Incorrect on this part. They only came from the boxes, and they were account bound. Meaning duplicates sit in the collection, and they can’t be traded. That’s what had people in a hubbub over them back then. The Firestorm is not account bound, therefore you can get it eventually off the TP. Anet’s patch notes have lied before, both with mystery boxes dropping from overworld mobs, and with miniature karka/reef drakes/karka hatchlings dropping in Southsun.
I agree with you in the sentiment. I was really disappointed that I couldn’t get one of the minis.
However I don’t agree that everyone who wants one is entitled to one. A rare, one time commodity is pretty much the basis of most MMOs. By giving one to everyone, you devalue them. I think the point is for someone to see that miniature and be like “OH wow, that’s really rare!” The same goes for pre-cursors, but honestly, that argument is used over and over.
Still wish I had gotten one, but it was the same with the jetpack.
I agree it’s an improvement over the Wintersday Box minis. For clarification/those that don’t remember those are the mini Festive Golem, Snowman, Airship and Foostive the Merry. The first 3 only came from the Wintersday Box as a rare drop (wiki worked the drop rate for each out at just over 1%), they were account bound so you couldn’t buy ones you missed or sell extras and the boxes could only be purchased with gems – so either a shed load of gold (remember the conversion rate jumps when there’s an event) or real money. Foostive has to be created by putting 3 of the others into the Mystic Forge, meaning to get the full set you needed to get lucky 6 times. (There was a rumor that Foostive dropped from Giant gifts too, with a drop rate of something like 0.001% but I never heard of anyone getting one that way.)
The mini Firestorm is slightly better because at least you weren’t paying for the “privilege” of gambling for it and it’s tradeable so there is the back-up option of buying it, if you can ever save up enough money.
But it’s still extremely frustrating that it was available for a limited time only AND a very rare drop. Either of those things is fine on it’s own but both together is annoying. If it was account bound too I’d be really annoyed.
Personally I think the best way to do it would be to have the system(s) we have now but add the gauntlets as a rare drop from the chest and let players exchange their ticket for any of the events unique items. You’d still have to complete the Flame & Frost achievements to get the ticket and each player would still be limited to only 1 ticket so the items would still be rare and only available for a limited time. But if people really want a certain item they could get it, instead of people who really want the gauntlets getting lucky and everyone else getting screwed.

^ I still prefer the SAB reward structure to that. No need to make us pick only one reward. Especially the fused gauntlets, cause they screw us players with several Alts. Granted I’m not really fond of the gauntlets, but making us only be able to get one kind of them is ridiculous. At least give us one of each armor class, even if they were just skin items (like how jetpack/quaggan backpacks are). At least with SAB reward structure you could still make money (if you got lucky with the drops), and those of us that are hated by RNG gods could still get the rewards (we would just have to work/grind for it).
