Rytlock's suffering from amnesia?
That’s because the game doesn’t know how much of the personal story you’ve done, if any. You’re seeing exactly what someone with a low-level character would see.
But yeah, Anet’s been bad about doing this kind of thing ever since GW1. Our characters never get the recognition for past deeds that they deserve, partially for this mechanical reason, but still…
But how did they recognise me as the commander back when we met Braham and Rox? Did players who barely did their PS get the same treatment? It’s still testable, if no one answers I’ll try tomorrow
I did the cutscenes with both my character who finished the story and the one who is in the middle. There was a difference, but suddenly being called “citizen” did bug me a bit on my level 80. xD I’m used to it from GW1, but GW2 had me thinking there’d be some consistency with Smodur calling me a Pact Commander.
He’s had quite a few blows to his head in his career as a soldier so far no doubt, so it’s not beyond the realm of possibilities
