Q:
last say on Fused Weapons
I think that the RNG can and should be in place in the game. It’s a way to make money as well making an item unique and more of a “wow” factor. However, I think that ever BLC should contain some kind of token and with these tokens you can buy the desired skin you want in case the RNG isn’t your best friend instead of feeling scammed.
I think its important to have certain items that are so rare you only seen them on players every once in while. It gives them item a “Wow” factor like Aniltiger said above. for instance if tons and tons players had fused molten weapons, people just wouldn’t care about them as much. People want what they can’t or don’t have and the thrill of when one of those rarest items drops for you is super rewarding. I agree however that putting those skins in the BLC is a bad idea and I don’t like it. I would rather them do it like the Molten Jet-pack and make the weapons rare drops from the dungeon. Putting a rare item like that in a dungeon is a great idea and a great way to get players to play your new content, and it wont feel like a gamble like BLC.
I didn’t mean hand them out like candy, I meant make giving them based on skill or dedication to the content.
I’m all for sttuff having a “wow” faactor or being rare, but I put lots of my time into farming those keys and I got nothing, doesn’t seem fair to me.
Even Legendary Weapons as mentioned earlier are more “tedious” than hard to get, even the Mystic Clovers seem to spawn at a reasonable rate. If Anet wants weapons to have a “wow” factor based on RNG then they could release “premium” skins that look even flashier but spawn rarely from chests (like the mounts in WOW) but the current skins are there for those who like the style, and would gladly pay loads on the Gem Store to get them, or put lots of time into the new content to get them. Shouldn’t those people be rewarded as opposed to getting “lucky” in chests (like a casual player gets a skin on their first try, but a dedicated player who gives more of their real time may never obtain them)
