Accessing the forums
I don’t know your situation, but I have remember me checked off, so I don’t have to keep logging in. However, when my machine goes to sleep, to save energy, I always have to relog. No idea why.
I believe it resets once per day, sometime after midnight PDT. I, too, am remembered, yet I must log in once a day.
Yah, seems to be a once a day thing. But I haven’t noticed that it’s connected with midnight PT. I’ve had to relog in the during the day, and I am 2 hours before PT. I’ve never noticed if its any particular time tho.
I suspect that there is a cookie with login information saved. This information expires, prompting the re-login.
The reason I think it’s a cookie is because I can go to a different browser and visit the forum main page without a login prompt, read threads, et cetera. But return to my “main” browser and can’t do anything without logging in.
For some reason the developers here think that logging in daily is the way to make things secure, so no matter what I can’t stay logged in for more than a day (even though in game I can save login credentials without issue).
Hi I think I’m having a similar problem to the OP but is not quite the one described by the replies.
Ordinarily, I just view the forums without logging in. Sometimes I’ll log in to make a reply.
However, if I try to view the forums later, having logged in before, I am unable to view to forums without logging in.
I’m not sure if it’s a bug or not (or just some weird cookie coincidence) but it did put me on alert the first time it happened (in case it was an elaborate phishing attempt but the URL appears to be genuine to me and I tried accessing the forums directly from the main page and the log in request still appeared).
