So you enter the Crown Pavilion and the instance you end up in is in the middle of the Boss Blitz. They’re not doing well. It’s maybe twenty minutes in and they’ve only killed 3 bosses.

You’d like to perhaps try to organize a good run from the beginning …or maybe you just want to kill one of the already dead bosses for your achievements.

But it’s clear that it’s going to take at least another half hour to finish off the rest of the bosses. Your play time is limited. What do you do? You can join in, but all you’d be doing is scaling up the event, possibly prolonging the wait time.

You can use up one of your guests, but it’s likely you’ll end up in the same situation, or even in the same exact instance you’re in now.

The default instance I log in to has so far always been in this situation.

TLDR: Perhaps Boss Blitz should have a failure condition/timer so that there’s a quicker turn-around time? It would allow players to try the event from the beginning more often, and thus give more opportunities for people to organize — once the Blitz is in motion, there’s no hope of organizing.

That sounds like a good idea. If the 6 bosses aren’t all dead within a set period of time, maybe 10 minutes, they all despawn. Maybe that would give people the idea they need to spread out and not all sit on one boss till it finally dies then zerg to the nest one.

I’d say more like 30 minutes (10 minutes per reward), but it is a great idea nonetheless.

Then we did get even people raging that there’s no loot, and blah blah blah.

With 30 minutes people would still be zerging from boss to boss. With 10 minutes, I think that would make it obvious that the group needs to break up to do this. Especially since timer for gold rewards is 6 minutes. Gold for 6, silver for 8 and bronze for 10.

Once the timer has expired the bosses should stop scaling upwards as much they do now, or perhaps they should lose the shared abilities. Players should have to kill them all or else casuals or will miss out on the achievements, but it shouldn’t be such a drag.
Benefits :

1) People can finish off the event and get their loot and go.
2) The six bosses can always be completed for achievements.
3) The event recycles quickly so new people can start it.
4) The last boss in a failed event isn’t going to scale ridiculously high once the whole zerg turns up (as they always do, no matter how they were split before).
