You could kid yourself and believe it’s for the challenge and it’s okay to work 10x as hard for half the loot. Although you could see they won’t give fair rewards anymore. I’ll be surprised if they don’t reduce rewards more overall in future updates. It’s what they have gradually done for months now so that something this drastic doesn’t seem that bad compared to a couple months ago. Compare it to loot at the beginning of the game though and you’ll see. Well over half of the feature pack was various nerfs to rewards as well. However don’t forget their friendly reminder with each patch lately…
“Remember that you can exchange gems and gold at our currency exchange on the second tab of the Black Lion Trading Company! Currently, you can get 1 gold for about 15 gems and 50 gold for about 655 gems!”
Well, not sure about bad loot, got into a hardcore Gold pavillion farm the other night and had 40 Gold chests in 4 hours. Event kept finishing about 4 minutes before timer end and the donating was fast (admitedly I did donate 20s every try so there’s that). So 400 champ bags in an evening I find quite decent. Oh and them festival things I exchanged for t6, 3,2k of those got me 10 resource bags.

I’ve been doing and organising about 5-6 gold runs per hour on a daily basis now.
And I’m happy with all the cores and lodestones I get and sell, as well as the amounts of salvaged mats.
So my advice: get better yourself, find better players like you, jump on TS with them if you want, and start getting fun and profit out of non-zerg content!
Seriously? Theyve already buffed the rewards AND nerfed the bosses. Stop whining.

Ah, the good old paranoia.
But then, with “at the beginning of the game”, you surely mean some broken and exploitable income generators or “past the champion bag implementation”. Because excluding the people who found loopholes in the design, that is when the money income flat out exploded for ~everyone, and inflation skyrocketed.
Is it any wonder that they want to reduce the income they buffed so much with champ bags, again? Overall?
Inflation is sky high compared to where it once was. And in addition to that they removed – granted, player wish – repair costs, further improving the money situation for everybody.
I completely bankrupted myself crafting my legendary. Without grinding champions, without farming the pavillions, without flipping the AH, I’m up from the 34g I had afterwards to 162g as of yesterday now.
That’s how overdone our income is right now. World bosses, dungeons, WvW, everything pretty much showers you in money.
You talk about them wanting you to exchange gems to gold.

You know we all have so much gold that we exchange so much of it into gems that the gem-price is as high as it is, right? We have too much gold. That’s why we feel comfortable dumping it all into gems in the first place.
Easy to farm gold in this event and loot is OP if anything,just 8-12 per boss and kill them all same time soon Boom Boom is down,most OP champ farm ever made
In a way that is true. The income is crazy good, even with the money being used for donations. Plus it’s champ bags, so you can pull the usual stuff out of them.
It’s a wee bit better balanced because unlike AC-speedrunning or FGS-champ-train or so, this requires a fair few players and a solid amount of organizations. It’s how efficient farming should be: having some requirements.
