Is there a bug preventing it from dropping?

Is the chance just supposed to be as low as it is?

I ask this because i want to know before wasting anymore time and gold on going for it.

IF it is supposed to be that rare im ok with it.

I just dont want to log in tomorrow seeing 50 of them on tradepost because it has been fixed over night. And all those bags i opened before will be wasted.

So please is it working as intended?

Keep the Gauntlet Chances until they a) patch it or b) the event is over.
The worst case is that they don’t do anything and you’ll open them at a later point.

No one knows if the droprate is intended, but as long as we don’t know, why bother? The reward isn’t going to get worse, not that it even can.

But the last time Anet ‘confirmed’ an item was working as intended was Final Rest. And one day after a patch released the drop rate was fixed (unannounced) and we started seeing Final Rests popping up.

In all honesty, the drop rate probably IS working as intended, but the coding that allows it to drop may be bugged.

For example, maybe the drop rate is 1.5% in their loot table but it won’t even give a chance at that roll because it only worked on the first few gamblet chances immediately after a patch.

It couldn’t possibly have been the intention for the back piece to end up costing this much, this quickly.
The other ones cost only a fraction of the gold/effort to get.

it’s the new way to go for anet. make people desperate so they pay for gems and then pay a 1000 g to buy an item. and finally, a week before the pavillon closes, the droprate gets fixed and you will loot it from every mob

No – Shadow Behemoth was immediately available at least once after each server restart. How many server restarts have we had since release up until the fix? I reckon 50-100. That’s more than enough runs for at least 1 person to get it and list it on the TP.

The day of the patch several people got Final Rest. Remember that even though the drop rate is very small, if you have hundreds of people completing the same boss it is very likely someone is going to get it.

lots of good answers and theorys. But in a bette world we would get a “yes its bugged” or “no we only want 3 people to have it” from a dev.

It might very well be working as intended since they didnt provide any official comments yet and didnt patch it.

Might be just one of a kind item, or maybe the first of a kind.

I bet John Smith knows(ArenaNet Economist). If they want to do a really interesting live stream, they need to give him an hour to talk shop. Why’s stuff like this so rare? What was the economic decision behind not bringing back the Aetherized weapons as drops in the Bazaar? Why is loot not dropping more regularly in the Pavilion?

The expensive armor skin parts in the gem store is one thing, but if they expect us to pay 2,5k gold for a simple back piece, I’m out.

They don’t expect us to play 2.5k gold for it. That’s the rare few lucky people who’ve gotten it as a drop and listed it on the trading post for that amount that expect others to pay that amount.

That said, there’s got to be something wrong with the drop rate for it. I’m certain part of it is that fewer people are doing the gauntlet than were last year, but surely by now they’ve had time to note the discrepancy and make adjustments?

I always wonder why there are more people wearing twilight than molten greatsword.

At least we’ll have a real prestige item now.

does A-Net have announcement or something about this? I see alot of post about this drop rate

It’s so sad to see how Arenanet handles this kind of problems, instead of admitting it’s bugged and announcing a fix they let people waste their time and money. If they were professional they would have announced a fix and they would have probably already solved the problem by now.

I don’t think it is bugged. I don’t think this is working out according to plan. I think they are waiting to see how it works out now that people are figuring out how to do Boss Blitz correctly, though I also believe they are surprised by just how dumb/slow most players are. I still see people in Pavilion asking “which one first”. After a week, in two different overflows this morning. Hellooooooo.

(Was looking for shorter gauntlet queues for my daily. Have I mentioned I hate waiting for other people to fight?)
