I kind of like the idea that the hoarders who inflate the prices get caught with the short stick at some point. If you’re going by the TP to try to determine the drop rate you may want to consider there’s other factors involved that limit the amount of event items for sale.

Also as far as I have always understood the mechanics of the game the loot in a box is determined at the time it drops and not influenced by time gated factors such as a patch or a magic find buff nor by the level of the character opening it. If it were you would have a lot of people opening bags earned on a high level with a lower level toon to access the more valuable salvage components.

I just wish they would hurry up and rebuild Lion’s Arch so a Risen version of Scarlet a can invade again!

It’s the double edge sword of MMOs. Often things that are rare become much easier to acquire over time. At the same time, there are sometimes bugs/glitches that allow people to hit things the first couple days to get rewards that later become fixed to their correct rate.

It is what it is. These drops were stupidly rare, ANet agreed with a lot of the players and made them more common. Wasted a bunch of tickets? well, so did I but now i’m dumping more in and actually getting stuff, it’s kinda nice.

The tickets were wasted the moment they dropped as I said in my original post. The only change (if there is one) is that everyone has an increased chance to get the rarer items towards the end of the event. As the previous poster said “it’s a double edged sword” but it also gives players an extra incentive to keep attending these limited time events.
