good thing i sold my tickets from last year to a vendor for nothing because i figured i would be able to do the content i did last year without any hinderance..

i would like to thank the people making that particular change of jacking up the prices of tickets deciding for me whether i would do this living story again..

Yes, Anet is fully to blame for this situation (and how can they “jack up” the prices when the tickets are using a currency just introduced?) If you want to complain about that, ok….but the price is completely NEW not HIGHER than last year.

Previous price of the tickets was: 20 Silver coin and 15 Watchwork Sprockets.

So the change was from 15 sprockets to 35 festival tokens.

I personally saved my stack and a half from last year and may or may not use them.

You get almost 1k tokens for completing the meta. You also get about 15 (if you lose) when playing Aspect Arena.

I don’t like chasing achievements, and I see no real reason to play QP or Zephyr mini games.
So yeah, I’d much rather pay 20s for a single ticket.

I’m kinda miffed about this as well to be honest. I was so excited when Liadri came back, now I’m spending most of my time slowly making my way through Blitz events and those long cool-down Labyrinthine Cliffs events to get tokens to buy more entrance tickets, just so I can play the content I’d like to play.

Do aspect arena. You get about 15 for playing and more if you win. Don’t farm the events for tokens.

I appreciate the advice, but honestly doesn’t it seem kind of against ANet’s play-your-way, no grind attitude if I have to do a bunch of rounds of aspect arena or any other game mode just so that I can enter the game mode I’d like to be playing?

By that logic, why not have entrance to aspect arena or sanctum sprint require victory tokens earned in the gauntlet? Just seems like a misstep to me, that’s all.

On a positive note, some guildies organized a couple of Boss Blitz gold attempts, and we got it twice in a row, 20 entrance tickets each time + whatever dropped from mobs. That was nice.
