Gold Vs Silver Boss Blitz
I have to disagree with this, i have seen multiple silvers because people waited too late to burn down. If they are 10% or less with one minute left i always max burn from 30 seconds down in the blind. Even if the slower guys miss the gold they have 7 mins to get silver; I have done 100 or so blitz and i have never seen a blitz get bronze because we killed a boss too soon.
I will only wait if the boss has more than 20% in the final phase.
I’ve seen this happen.
It does seem safer to achieve Silver, than risk Bronze. No one likes Bronze, and that can destroy a team.
The bosses not only pass on their signature move but they also give more armor to the ones remaining. With this in mind, there is zero reason to kill any boss until all of them are ready. Killing your boss early is just making the boss that is struggling much worse.
I was once fortunate to get into a pavilion which was consistently gold with the occasional silver. Missing out on the burn them all at once sweet spot for gold usually meant we had them all killed within two minutes into silver. I don’t think there is much of a risk for bronze. When you’re that close to getting gold you occasionally end up with silver.
But most of the time from my experience it’s bronze hell. Before the mega server concept finding other organized players who had similar goals was accomplished via guesting on an organized server such as Desolation. Now that isn’t an option and the megaserver doesn’t seem to take into consideration I’d prefer to do the pavilion with organized players and I’m ever stuck where people stack one boss and spend a half hour or more completing bronze. It isn’t fun and it isn’t worth it. Silver at least has the benefit of being finished in 10 minutes. Gold is best, silver isn’t so bad but bronze is a tedious process and I cannot understand why so many pavilions won’t at least try for silver, let alone gold.
I enjoy group events that require teamwork and communication but the new megaserver concept is actually making it harder to find the gold and silver pavilions. I wish there would be more consideration to such issues when designing these group events so that players who want to be organized aren’t stuck in pavilions that just don’t seem to get it and probably never will.
It needs organization. If you have one boss at 15%+ in the last minute, then chances of getting gold are pretty slim, so forget about it and just wait for them. If they are getting fairly low though, you would want to burn by 30 seconds, even if it leads to a little chaos and one boss that might die a little after the silver mark.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”

It’s not the megaserver’s fault at all, if it didn’t exist everyone would be fighting tooth and nail to get into the most populated servers’ prime instances, and the result would be essentially the same.
The other day, I was leading a primarily gold, occasional silver map. My policy on it is to burn at 15s regardless of readiness. Usually this ends up with a silver but once it did end up with a clutch 1s remaining gold (the not ready group was shurakk at 3ish percent). It only takes a few minutes to kill the “voltron” boss and if it takes longer than maybe your map’s player quality is not high enough for gold anyways. I also find it really fun to fight the bosses with all of the mechanics flying at you but some people don’t enjoy the chaos as much as I.
Wait for Boom Boom to call it. Rushing it is simply a waste. Also, it’s teaching players bad habits.
If you are stuck on silver, go drop a tray of food. Can’t express how annoying it is to see most players running around dry with no food, utilities, or potions.
Just wait for last boss always even it go to silver, then in next round sort that boss out by moving zerg players to slowest boss and upscale to fastest boss
Killing them early also just invite randoms to the last boss, heavily scaling it up. I see little point of killing bosses early when there’s one group clearly not ready to do so.
“This brought up a whole argument of whether or not players should burn before the gold timer runs out.”
This shouldn’t be an argument to begin with.
If you have the opportunity to burn for gold, then do it.
As soon as you have the opportunity to do silver, however, you should do your absolute best to make the encounter as easy as possible. This means waiting for everyone to get to critical.
For example, if you have 30 seconds left, and all bosses are at critical except one at 25%, why in the world would you want to burn? You end up passing all the special boss attacks on the very last boss and only making their job harder. And it doesn’t help that there will be noobs who do not understand that bosses will scale, which makes it even harder when people flock to that last boss to ‘help’
