How should ANet read its Boss Blitz metrics?
They will fix any event issues by adding rewards in the gem store.
This event would have worked a lot better under the old server system structure. There would have been ample commanders. Even small servers would have had a better time. I loved doing the Gauntlet, but the Blitz instances that I ended up in were always bad. I had one silver run over the course of a week. The rest of the time there weren’t enough people.
AFK’ing in there is also rampant. People allow others to do the majority of bosses and when there is one left they go kill the last one for a Bronze.
There are some design issues to be sure, but I think this type of event will work in the future with some tweaking. It feels like an update that was designed with the old server structure in mind. Hopefully, new events after this will be more streamlined.
It’s too bad really. ArenaNet was getting really good after a year of practice with the updates and now that the server structure is changed they kind of have to go back to the drawing board and we get to be guinea pigs for another 6 months or so til they get it the structuring down again.
One of the downfalls of constant iterative design is that the players end up as beta testers so the mad scientists can perfect their craft.
I’ve been farming gold reward in the pavilion with my guild the last few days. It’s pretty easy with 6 commanders and teamspeak. You just divide the zerg up evenly and wait for all bosses to reach 5% before bursting them down simultaneously. It’s actually kinda broken how profitable it is, but it’s temporary so no biggie I suppose.

You also have to get the pugs to listen and cooperate/split properly. one too many at one of the bosses and its easily silver instead of gold.
Please give us a keyring…
I think that Boom Boom is the only one that really needs to be tweaked. Maybe adjusting the healing turrets so that they don’t do so much healing, or so that they don’t pop quite so often. The rest of the bosses seem to be about right, but only if you have less than 10 on each. Anymore than that and they all scale wildly up….especially after more than 15 players on each.
Imo, maybe adjust the scaling so that it’s on a timer….something like initially starting a timer of around 3-5 minutes on the boss…..at the end of that timer, the scaling locks in for the rest of the battle. (of course, that would probably end up being exploited by players, so might not be such a good idea)
Mmo players with a screw loose vs mmo players with two screws loose. All very important stuff.

Moreover, it’s pretty hard to organize when every time you log in, the instance you get is half way through an hour long Boss Blitz run.
