Kiel's Voice Acting Felt Forced
You say this like much of any of the voice acting we get doesnt feel forced.
There was a time when it didn’t feel forced. It only started feeling forced recently. Back during Dragon Bash, Queen’s Jubilee, the original Bazaar update, etc. the voice acting felt much more realistic. Or do you disagree? It only started feeling forced since the ending parts of the Battle for Lion’s Arch to me.
What it sounded like to me was Kiel gone all politician, forcing herself to be jocular and effusive like a PR flack. And thus sounding all sorts of insincere.

She is just showing her true colours – Evon should have been in her place and he would be working hard to get lions arch back on its feet.
Kiel is just slimy.
I noticed that as well, i felt like several voice actors in this cutszene sounded weird.
Kiel mostly in that case.
She was giving a prepared speech. It’s supposed to feel forced. I’m pretty sure it was deliberate.

perhaps I just have a low tolerance for silly concepts like “totally not the slightly hipper and younger and edgier destiny edge”
You try to be a pirate and hold a diplomatic meeting with a culture that can change your entire future.
Out of character you say? yes, it was supposed to be – see previous sentence about pirates and gratitude.
