More Grind, Fewer Rewards
It hasn’t been a day and the zergs in there are almost nonexistent. Good thing I got my achievements done today.
Another thing that has bugged me is the fortune scrap vendor. Where is the guy that sold everything the Cliffs had previously?
Last time I earned a Wind Catcher Skin that I had on my old main before I deleted it (and back piece) after the Dec 10th thief patch. Now that the Cliffs are up I spent the last 2 hours looking for a vendor only to find the Wind catcher was only available on the TP.
Out of every backpiece, the Wind Catcher was my favorite. And because the only option I have to get it is expensive, I am kittened.
The wind catcher is supposedly dropping out of the Zephyr Boxes. It is just an extremely low drop rate… I guess much like every other worthwile drop in this game..
Why is the loot in pavilion tuned to absolute zero? Anet has gone mad with gem lust now? There’s just no excuse to tune the loot to absolute zero. You can balance loot drop rates without removing loot entirely. Escape from LA was active 24/7, it dropped loot as fast as anywhere else in the game so the content was actually used. People didn’t just zerg down the Escape from LA achieves on day one then never go again. Escape had competitive loot so it became a fun community thing that everyone enjoyed. You have a loot-centric game, if you can’t/wont solve that basic problem then stop trying to bandaid it by starving the loot out of everything. All you’re doing is making the game dishearteningly boring.
I got one loot bag from some mob in the pavillion (after killing 50 of each type for the achievements)…must be a bug that I got anything in the first place.
Loot = gold income for players.
By removing gold income, players resort to gems > gold. Or at least, Anet believes so.
Why do you think in the blogpost they included a reminder that you can convert gems to gold? That’s the first time they ever did that and it was suspicious.
Anet has nerfed every single farming event ever since release. I’m surprised they haven’t reverted dungeon rewards, as that is the only significant gold faucet now.
My theory, as far as the “new” form of advertising goes is that it somewhat started here:
From there it was like: We need more exposure on the fact that people can do that, they don’t think about it.
As for the rest … ya, I got nothing.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
LS used to give 250-300 AP
now its barely 100, its rather frustrating.
About the crystals: I really think MMOs need to look more into non-combat content. Not only jumping-puzzles (which I suppose crystals are, too), but all kinds of things. Diplomacy, relationships (I don’t mean love, think links from Persona games), crafting as a full class, mercantile professions, etc etc.
Combat is so… it’s difficult to innovate or even impress with, at this point. It also feels weird when all you do is push butans 2 maek dis day.
