Pavillion and Toxicity
True. If you’re in a Silver/Gold instance and get into Bronze territory even once, it’s time to open LFG and taxi somewhere else because your instance is going to self-destruct.
In fact, depending on the status of the last boss(es), you may want to leave before the event is even over — it might not be worth your time to stick it out.
yes, its called instanced raids.
The fact that a just few people can screw things up for a large group is not good design for open world content. The tuning is pretty off and the margin for error is pretty small when it comes to group sizes in a full instance.
For open world content the margin of error must be pretty big as one cannot exercise complete control over a group of random people or how they play. That kind of tight coordination where the actions/build/location of 1 player can affect the entire group is usually left in instanced raids for organized groups to do. There each individual member can be held accountable for their actions.

There will be toxicity when one’s rewards is dependent and usually offset by others inability.
The LFG maps seem to fall under this scenario quite often. Technically it’s rare for just one person to screw it up, it usually requires multiple people – too many uplevels, too many afkers, not enough DPS builds, too many people unaware of mechanics and don’t read map/say chat, and so on.
The phenomenon you’re noticing is called “immaturity.” Every multiplayer online game is fraught with it, because most of the players are stupid teenagers / college students who imagine themselves much more mature than is reality.
If you’re hoping ANet can do something about that, I’m afraid you’re out of luck.
Honestly, once I got the meta I never stepped again in the Pavillion.
I will do in the future, for the Gauntlet, but the Boss Blitz, no thanks.
Even when I get in an organized group and everything was going smoothy with most of gold attemps the toxicity was there.
Players calling names to anothers players.
“Scrubs” “Idiots upleveleds”
Even a guy started to whispering me because I said in the map chat that the event scaling was off, saying that I was the cause that the game was bad, that anet wasn’t it fault, that was my fault and the fault of players like me.
And then blocked me.
And then unblocked me, linked me a bunch of gold chest (as if that could prove that he’s and his uber leetness is better that me and the other “scrubs”) and blocked me again.
I play Guild Wars 2 to have fun and relax. The Pavillion is exactly the reverse.
That sounds like one angry guy. Though you could’ve easily blocked him and saved yourself the trouble of hearing some random guy rant. I mean, it’s literally like one right click away.
