Guild Wars 2

While ANet said it would be dropping hints of future content in the Labyrinthine Cliffs, I have seen little different aside from the ship with the red sails Taimi and another Asuran mentions.
The only other new fixture seems to be a little ways off the coast is surrounded by NPCs named only “Stanger” that you can interact with, but can’t talk to. They are situated on structure around the debris of an Atherblade airship.
This, with the presence of other “Stanger” NPCs makes me wonder if since Mai Trin’s escape, there are some Atherblade stragglers in the Cliffs looking to harness the Zephyrites aspect knowledge for their own usage.

The ship with the red sails could very well be a Athership in disguise. It’s big enough to conceal one, it would explain the glow coming from it, and the discrepancy in the amount of cargo on board, if it’s being stockpiled elsewhere.
All speculation, but I haven’t seen much else.

Bingo. That’s all I can say.

To be honest, I kinda like the Aetherblades anyways, and Mai Trin is cool. I hope they make another appearance in the living story.

If those are relevant, then they planned this waaaaay before the release of GW2. Those are really old pieces.

PS – Actually, I don’t think it was their plan all along, but it is cool that artwork is being utilized.

They may very well be new enemies, but the disappearance of an entire faction isn’t going to happen if they are doing a living story. The Toxic Alliance is still about making an annoyance of itself. We have to deal with the Atherblades properly in order to eliminate their presence.

There were already many Strangers in Labyrinthine Cliffs last year.

I think most of the hints are hidden in the NPC dialogues. Like the Zephyr Sanctum taking in strange supplies, and planning a longer, further journey than ever before. Or the ambient dialogue in Lion’s Arch.

Keep in mind that Elona is that direction (and Cantha is South….tho it has been implied that Cantha won’t be happening). I guess visitors from Cantha aren’t out of the question (or are they?).

I agree that I hope they come up with something different than rehashes of LS1 enemies.

More OT, there’s also that guy at the front of the LA ship where he talks about where the new decoration came from and that he hopes you can go to the place to see it too. Cathan hint mayhaps?

another point of interest on the ground level of LC is a corpse of a Mercenary in super close proximity to a terrestrial Skycrystal. the placement seems to imply that this Npc was attempting to transport (possibly steal) the Crystal and died in the process. was it a simple misstep on the Sanctum? or did the Krait kill him? i cant say for sure. maybe there will be a notable Merc presence in S.2? maybe bad things happen to people who touch the wrong Crystals? what do you guys think?

Seems like the hints are very thin and won’t tell us substantial stuff about season 2. Guess we have to wait untill july 1 to see what’s in store for us.

The Aetherblades aren’t Scarlet’s lackeys, they were just hired for a couple jobs and then as a mercenary force. Half-right, I suppose.
Personally I love the Aetherblades. Pirates? Yeah, super interesting. But flying pirates? I’m sold.
