It’s solo content.
Ironic for a MMO…
boss blitz dont have “tons and tons of health” unless you’re doing it wrong. In fact a party of 5 can effectively take a boss down.
I quite enjoy boss blitz btw.

This event is once again a proof that the average player is bad. A group of 5 can take any of the boss in 3 minutes . 6 good group of 10 can take all of them down in 2 minutes. Yet every server takes 1 hour to finish it unless it’s a well organized guild like TTS. (I see mesmer using Greatsword auto attack to kill turret at boom boom)
Along with that people don’t listen, it takes forever to organize. Don’t blame the event, blame the players.
I think it’s a great event but it’s not fit for game where we don’t have control over who is joining.
P.S. Actually let me clarify, I don’t think the average player is necessary bad, I think a lot of them just don’t care or are too stubborn to listen to others.

Actually makes me think that there is more of an issue with scaling than anything else.

They do scale better for smaller group, but we tested with a group of 40 Players using Berserker gears and still manage to kill boom boom baine within a little less than 5 minutes. But again the whole purpose is to get you to spread, that’s probably why they made them so hard to kill with bigger group they want to punish us for Zerging.
They want to push us into the right direction, there is no way you can get gold or silver with Zerg.
well I’ve started using the lfg tool to get into an organised map, and for the most part its been working,… got more silvers than gold… but they’re not long drawn out runs, it’s quick to start the next run and most people liste…..most..you still the get the odd person who say something like “chat was on a different tab”/“I have map chat off, sorry”.
In this case, its clear these events need to force mapchat on (and saychat) ….and for people that have multiple tabs..
maybe when you enter an event area like this, you chat tab changes to default. guild/say/map in one..combat in the other… and you cant block/stop map chat. It’s really crucial that people can see what you’re asking them to do.
Then again, EU servers have much higher problems than NA servers with communication nowadays.
For christmas I’d like to get a crossbow for my characters.
With love, a cute kitty.

It’s sad that having more people to help you in MMO is now considered “doing it wrong”.

so, 6 groups of 10 people coordinating with each other is less “MMO”, then 1 group of 60 people mashing “1” in silence?
What is wrong with gauntlet?
Its not a skill challenge.
Its a challenge on how much you know builds and mechanics.
As Always frustrating until you understand how stuff works, then you can find a build to play for you.
Pavillion is way better…. unbalanced but better.
They should adjust scaling, because with small cordinated groups you can get gold easily.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
Not really astra its sad that people are too lazy to put any thought into their fights crown pav is far from a one button zerg win it takes using your mind and alil something called common sense anet is pusjing the players to actually play and enjoy the content instead of zergfest 1 button mashing laziness that complains that theres no content left because they zerged through it without a 2nd thought of whats actually being played (we zerg trampled it why isnt there more content to trample already????) this way you can actually appreciate a good fight instead of mindless npc farming anet did a WONDERFUL job

I did that too, but only because I was commandeering and was busy typing. But yeah, in general you’re right.
I mean usually TxS takes 5-6 minutes, but much of that is waiting on Boom-Boom because as soon as a few pugs run over she scales up so very much. Sometimes you also get people dropping Ice bows and FGS at Shurakk and then the pugs die off and you got the upscaled boss. :P
Its the right direction, but its nowhere near yet. Dont get me wrong, im all for a bit of coordinating, but now, if i go to boom boom and 90% of people ignore turret, i just leave, i dont have all day ;P Havent yet managed to get into coordinated instance.
Gauntlet is awesome, whoever said it wasnt skill was wrong and you need to refresh your definition on “skill”. Did Liadri on 2 accounts (1 last time 1 this time) and 3 classes (Thief/Necro/Warr). It does have aspect of luck involved (cosmic rifts) but generally you cannot be THAT unlucky, if youre doing everything right you should get it in <5 tries ;P MOAR content like this pls Yes, its a MMO, and yes, solo content is a part of MMO equally as any other part.

Nah, im pretty much done with pavillion ;P just did it 2-3 times to get gauntlet tickets/acievements for my second account
These days i much more enjoy flying dolly ;P when the lightning shoots those dollies down….priceless ha ha
Anyway, now that ive put more thought into it, i think some “normal” and “hard” mode would be quite a good idea for festivals/LS, normal mode would have normal rewards and for those who want to coordinate, some kind of guild thingy can be put in to start hard mode with increased rewards (ultimately if you “fail” hard mode you get normal rewards). I have always been in favor of different difficulty levels, BUT, not different rewards just more rewards for hard mode.
Well, something in that direction. Pavillion is supposed to be returning festival? Then something can be done as i know those who dont coordinate dont have fun with it and it doesnt have to necessarily be that way.

Last year we also had “Candidate Trials” as a solo/group challenge, sort of like the Glint’s Challenge in GW1 with waves of Aetherblades threatening your supply stores. Of course, those were tied in with the Kiel/Gnashblade election race, so in its form it made no sense to return.
But that and Queen’s Gauntlet are excellent ways ArenaNet have implemented real challenging content. I hope we can get something like the Candidate Trials again for groups to do like the good ol’ challenge missions back in GW1.

Different mode zones would require way to much work we are only getting festival of the winds now because the players were content hungry and anet needs more time to deliver an awesome s2 i got 2 back skins and a bow skin for my ranger/warrior i cant be any happier but like i said we wont see much of a big change like that in festivals because thats what they are, just something to hold us over till the big one comes most i see changing is festival items swapping out or something every other year

Its worth it if its reoccuring festival. I dont know will it be up again for 2 years anniversary, but improvements are welcome.

The hard cap for zones is not 60, but 150, remember? And 6 groups of 25 people in this case is definitely “doing it wrong”. Which, as i mentioned before, is sad in an MMO.

Guantlet is an interesting content but this years rewards are abysmal. There is no real reward for doing them besides the achievements. Last year you could get gold and bags for scraps of stuff. This year, festival tokens with little value, gauntlet chance which gives 1 …1! festival token or if you are super lucky a festival ticket of the pavilion. Besides that, nothing else.
Although when I think about it, maybe it was a strategy for Anet to make it unappealing so the gauntlets weren’t overloaded. So people who did it last year are put off. Which makes it easier for people this year to complete the achievements.

Really, REALLY!!
You must be in a really bad megaserver instance then if your not getting gold without being in an organised guild run instance… otherwise your just talking smack for attention.
Pug groups are completing Gold all over the event, especially since the rewards patch… it has never been a difficult event to get done quickly, it just hasn’t been worth bothering to get done at all until the loot patch made it more attractive to the masses.
It certainly doesn’t require TTS or such to set it up for you or even require a TS channel to communicate.. it just requires people to taxi others into an instance to keep it well oiled with people ready to jump in and fill any gaps that appear, doesn’t even need commander tags just a few players to talk in map chat re numbers and percentages.. or maybe you need a Dorito to follow in order to be effective in your own actions. In fact we always ask for commanders to detag as soon as their particular Boss group is adequately manned to help avoid too much overstacking .. last tag showing is where the players late joiners/afk’ers etc will then tend to migrate to.
The hardest part of this event is actually staying interested long enough in order to keep the instance primed and effective.
Only way to get gold/silver is get on premade and even in those you still get way to low loot…
LS just to be pug friendly but now find premade or go home!!!
well I’ve started using the lfg tool to get into an organised map, . . .
OMG. Thanks so much for this.
The simplest possible solution – and it works like a charm.
Once again proof that, if people stop complaining for 2 minutes and look for a way to make it work, they will usually find one.
Blitz just got alot more fun. Thanks again.

Unless things changed from last year the hard cap for that map is closer to 75 then 150.

Yeah but Pav caps at 75 and you always have a few solo fighters, so 60 is a good number.
That moment were you enjoyed more the cute baby Dolyak race than the Gauntlet or the Boss Blitz.
