This is probably my frustration talking, but I was doing good in gauntlet until I got to the third boss, windcaller kieldia. The boss directly is easy to kite, but the tornadoes are a different story.

I’m always fighting the camera because if I run from a tornado and go close to a corner, it zooms in, if I get hit by a tornado it bounces me back to another tornado and goes into a loop until I die. They can’t be blocked and if I dodge with my mesmer the camera zooms in every five seconds and can’t see in time before it’s too late. Any tips?

Use a necromancer, pop Lich form, run away from boss while auto attack == dead.

Really any good source of stability should work on her

One method is to get her down very quickly, so she can’t spawn too many tornados.
Spec for more dps and throw everything on her as you go in.
that worked for me at least.
If you take too long, you will not be able to escape the tornados with a mesmer and Mantra of Concentration does only help soso.

High DPS rangers with Rampage as One make Kieldia a joke. Lich Form necros can also beat her fairly easily.

It does come down a bit to luck though. Sometimes the tornadoes all cluster on the other side of the arena and don’t come near you at all.

I have tried my condition mesmer, which cant kill her because a lot clone skills move or port you into tornadoes and you’re done from infinite juggling. I tried my necro with lich form but it doesn’t do enough damage in time so the tornadoes just kill him. Tried my warrior just now, used dolyak signet. He does the most damage but once the signet is gone he just gets juggled infinitely too.

There’s no way to get out of it, you keep getting bounced back and forth and have no way to respond.

This is where you have to change up your builds, and maybe some of you gear and skills. I totally reworked my necro for the gauntlet. This is not a time to be “stuck in your ways.” This encounter was designed for you to have to switch it up.

Also note: Every Single Profession has a Spec/gear set that can beat every boss in the gauntlet. Some of them you just might have to change around as you go. I find this to be a nice way for them to have you use your free trait reset options! =)

On mesmer, I’ve had an easy time with sword/sword and sword/pistol and traited 6/6/0/0/2. The phantasms (I traited both sword and pistol in this case) do a lot of damage, and if you use the healing signet to reset phantasm cooldown, you can have three of them on her right at the start of the fight. Consider bringing your race minion(s) as elite, too, if you can’t make full use of timewarp, and cast that right at the start of the fight.

And target (ctrl+t) her from the start… But indeed use stability, it makes the fight easy.

I made this for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwseD7cesdY

Simple build, and I didn’t even play correctly, I forgot to pop the heal for the 15% damage boost, and never used Whirlwind.

Zerk builds work the best here. I killed her (with the “On Fire” gambit, for achieve) using a straight out lava font spammer zerker ele. I had two stability skills prepared, but didn’t even have to use them. For warrior, i suggest taking dolyak, balanced stance and maybe rampager elite if those two are not enough. As mentioned before, longbow ranger with rampage as one works good as well.
The real key, regardless of class, is dps – the faster you deal damage, the less tornadoes you will have to deal with, and less stability you will need. Take too long, and you will be overwhelmed regardless of class or build.

Actions, not words.
