ANET killed 40+ Fractals for Pugs
they created the most fun dungeon experience I’ve seen so far in GW2. Agreed, thank you Anet
I climbed to Lv. 50 since the update came out with only PUGs.
I’m finding runs 40+ are taking half as long as runs in the 30 range. It could be bad luck but every group I’ve ran with in the 30’s has taken 2-3 hours. But why exactly would PUG groups be killed? Like Lopez did I leveled to 50 with complete randoms in the span of 2 days. It’s entirely possible.
If anything I would argue that lower-level fractals are much harder in PUGs because people generally play much worse at those levels.
I agree with Lopez, I’ve just started into the fractals and at the lower levels we have problems because people don’t know when to dodge, or what some of the effects in the areas are. By the time you get to the 40+ range you could argue its much easier, because only the people devoted to the fractals are going to bother sticking around for those levels and difficulties.
Theirs nothing special up there..you dont get 300 gold for hitting level 50…….its just for fun…relax.^^like fotm users always say~“No ones forcing anybody to play fotm”…..Relax and Enjoy the game^^
i hate the PUGs sometimes, like every time I do dredge with a PUG they want to use that lame trick with the plank and then the one at cliffside always hugging that boss, and it’s not even patched.
I hate lame lame lame bugs like that. the PUGs in this game are way too hardcore and always use these lame tricks to circumvent the intended gameplay.

Blame anet for taking over a year to fix simple things

well i have to agree that if you can bug something and it makes it go 10x faster then…im all for it. its not a wonderful experience if you’ve killed the guy 9baziillion times before….you just want to progress.
irritating note: every time the third fractal ends…i close my eyes and THINK MAW…please please please maw lol. cuz ugh
pvp = shopping at gucci n loui
wvw = shopping at walmart and costco
My last fractal yet was 48 with PUG and we did it without bigger problems. We were lucky that we got maw at the end but i belive we would do others too. Maybe with some wipe but we would do it.
My personal experience so far is that pug fail more at lower levels then hight levels. Becouse at lower levels players are usually unexperienced but at 48 everyone usually know what to do.
The problem with pugs on the 40+ levels is that the instabilities cause a few wipes and many of them require a few tries and changes to figure out the best way to beat it. Most pugs don’t have the patience to do so and after a couple of failures leave the party. I do not understand why people expect to beat a boss on the first try if you are impared by not being able to dodge, heal yourself or killing yourself by your own damage. That’s why I always open and have at least one friend with me so I can keep the fractal open when the pugs start giving up and replace them with friends. At level 43, fire shaman boss, end of third fractal, 2 people left without saying a thing after the second wipe. I’d like to see a party doing this on the first try before all the suggestions from players who spend hours inside were available.

- 40-50 is taking half as long as 30-40.
- 30-40 has taken 2-3 hours per run.
- Minimum amount of time for 30-40 is 20 hours. Maximum is 30.
- 40-50 by your reference took anywhere between 10-15 hours.
- You reached 50 over two days.
- You somehow played between 30 to 55 hours in the course of 2 days/48 hours.
- Assuming a minimum 6 hours of sleep per day best case scenario is that you had 6 hours of not playing Guild Wars over that 2 days.
- The content has only been out for 5 days at the time of your post.
Its exceptionally likely you were playing with people who were seasoned fractal veterans before the update. Those weren’t the colloquial definition of ‘pugs’.
peasants had no bread and who responded: “Let them eat brioche.”
Pugging levels 1-9 takes more time and effort than pugging 10-19. It gets easier the higher you go as others have already stated. The issue is with the skill level of the players and whether or not they are a pug does not determine this.

Same here. Who would have thought I would be so excited to see that thing.

If we consider that level 40+ FotM is basically the equivalent in terms of progression in PvE to raids in other MMOs. I don’t think I’ve ever PUGed raids, or even tried to.
Anyone who rushed through fractals when it first release to get to 50 usually meant they are better player. Therefore those who “pug” with those people more or less already know what they are doing, most of the time they are even better players than the guild groups. Give it 2-3 months let the mediocre/average and terribad people catch up to 40+ , fractal 40+ won’t be that fast anymore.
