With the latest content release which generated unusually high volume of backlash from the community, it’s pretty clear that Anet bite more than they can chew in terms of new content push (once/twice per month). To be fair, the intention is rather noble, i.e. keeping people captivated with new things to explore/pursue, and certainly credit is due. However, the recent contents contains numerous gaffes, ranging from embarrassing bugs, sloppy and forced story-line, and even going as far as remodeling existing armor skins to sell for profits. I think most people will agree with me at least that much. Earlier updates usually are generally even mix of praise and criticism. This one, and/or the one before is clearly not the case. Quite frankly, there is little doubt that the trend shows contents are rushed through and shoved down everyone’s throat for the sake of deadline and possibly company’s profit quota. We like new contents, but not half-kitten ones. I personally do not mind if new content frequency is once per two/three months, so long as everything is thought-through and properly tested. Surely wont be bug-free, but at least minimizing the frustration. With the current practice, I feel like the entire gaming community is being treated as some test lab rats (Can I get a job at Anet’s test team please? does seems pretty chilled back there aint we) to give free test analysis to Anet with those bug reports. So, take your time to polish content, even if it means thing progresses abit slower, but it will be something worth the anticipation. And enough of Scarlet (directed at Ms. Angel McCoy)
