Since you are now allowed to choose which fractal weapon you want from a box drop, will current fractal weapons that you may have and cannot use turn into those boxes? Really can’t use a warhorn or a axe on my mesmer haha.

Due to some technical problem, no. Which doesn’t seem quite right, considering they could do something similar to the gathering tools with the npcs exchange, but it isn’t likely that they care enough to implement it. We didn’t buy the weapons with gems, right?

nope. They’ve already said that the new things are going to be skins, the old ones are going to remain as weapons you need to use with a trans stone.

If they’re not even going to change the old stuff to skins over weapons, no way there going to turn them into boxes.

I forgot about that! An exchange to an npc would be awesome and make more sense. But one could hope right haha.

I don’t understand it either. I’m guessing it’s due to laziness since they did it with the gathering tools.

The new weapons are becoming skins so you don’t need to transmute them anymore. This is ALMOST identical to the tools

1) We should be compensated for all crystals used to transmute the skins
2) We should be able to give old versions to NPCs in exchange for ones that are skins.

yeeh well 31 frac skins sitting on my eles inventory :| would love to make them boxes and stack but i guess theres good to live in hope… this is basicly the same situations when they introduced black lion tickets and if you had old weapons (not used) you werent able to sell them and it was due to technical difficulties…yet its wierd that players have discovered a way to make the unsellable skins into sellable versions without moderating tools when anet cant do it
