For the longest time people have been saying that there is no use for the prisctine fractal relics.

Here is an idea: let us buy dragonite ore with them.

It makes perfect sence to be able to purchase ore from doing fractals since this is the place where the ascended weapons are most needed. If it can drop in wvw, why can’t it be acquired from fractals too?

I’d rather we be allowed to buy something more substantial with pristine relics. I don’t know about you, but I have far more dragonite ore than I’ll ever need. I’ve begun destroying any I find.

I would rather be able to purchase more ascended trinkets and back pieces with my pristine relics. Perhaps consumables which temporarily increase agony resistance, or agony resist infusions.

i wouldn’t mine seeing mist essences available to buy, im having a hard time getting them in game.

For people that don’t wvw and hate doing temple events, this is a nice way to get dragonite ore. I believe all types of ascended materials should be acquired in fractals.

Why not? It could be an absurd amount of relics. I’m thinking 30 pristine fractal relics for one weapon.

That is my point exactly, I do not want to do mindless zergy meta events in order to get dragonite ore. The same applies for many other players. The events may seem fun the first couple of times but in the end become a boring chore. How many times do I have to slay Jormag so I can craft one ascended sword? Pristine relics could offer that possibility, it is an alternative way to get the ore. It can be compared to the obsidian shards. You can get those with karma. But if you don’t want to do endless event chains to get that karma, you can buy them with fractal relics.

You don’t need to do zergy events. If you’re playing on one of the EU servers you can come along for the temple of melandru event, I could use someone else. Soloing it is definitely not zerging.

Though getting more sources of dragonite would be welcomed. I’m swimming with empyreal fragments, not to mention bloodstone dust.

There’s a lot of things you should be able to buy with pristine fractal relics. Fractal Skins, Ascended Earrings/Necklaces and Ascended weapons/armors materials should definitely be on the list.

I totally agree on the dragonite ore. I don´t like doing temple events or other world events…or even zerging around in Wvw, just so i can get dragonite ore for my ascended weapon. Which i seem to be needing in higher lvl fractals because of the AR.

The problem so far with ascended materials is that everyone tends to get a lot of bloodstone dust and either empyreal shards or dragonite ore. People who do big zerg events get lots of dragonite but no empyreal shards, whereas people like me who do lots of dungeons have more than enough empyreal shards but almost 0 dragonite. Solution: Make the darn things trade-able, or have Miyani sell them for coin!

The problem is that the people that want an alternative use for the pristine relics are the ones with 100+ of them. Those same people have thousands of regular relics left after making ascended backpieces for all their alts.

I dunno, despite having tons of these, I need tons of obsidian shards. These are always useful, and if I could buy a pack of them with pristines I would be more than happy.

But I would like to buy them with the 100s of useless prisitines I have. That’s what I meant. Didn’t know it was unclear.

It was clear I just want to be able to buy stuff that cannot be acquired in fractals. Dragonite ore is so far the only thing I am lacking.

Well, me too. I’m just saying that the use for pristines should be expanded, and dragonite ore and an exchange rate for regulars might be good options.

They could easily add a pristine vendor, just like the laurel one…

That’s the issue though. Players in PvE can only get Dragonite Ore through completing certain Meta Events. It’s too limiting. Take for instance Empyreal Fragments, which can be gotten through dungeon completion or open world chests. That’s two methods of getting fragments versus the single method of obtaining Dragonite Ore. You could say that Bloodstone Dust can only be obtained through Champion Bags, and while true there’s something that is vastly different between the two.
The fact of the matter is that there are Champion level mobs in every part of the game. Every PvE game mode from Events to Dungeon to Even general over world exploration, players can find Champion-level mobs without that much difficulty. Additionally, players can obtain a bag from the same Champion multiple times in a single day. Compared to Dragonite Ore, which is only obtained as a reward from a select few Meta Events once a day, you can see the discrepancy between the two.
Overall, I do think that there needs to be a secondary source for Dragonite Ore. Do I personally that we should be able to buy them for relics? Maybe, though I’m not a big fan of the idea. I personally feel that we should be able to use them to directly buy Ascended gear, even if it is super expensive.

Unless it’s something crazy like, 250 perfect pristine fractals, where it takes 1000 pristines to make a perfect.

WvW is not a viable way to obtain dragonite. It’s 3-5 for a keep.

Bloodstone drops from champs, which are everywhere. Empyreal is fairly easy to get in dungeons, fractals, WvW, jumping puzzles. Dragonite … the only place to get it is world events.

I don’t do that many world events, and when I do the only reason I’m doing it is to get dragonite. I would love a way to buy some with pristine relics.

they shouldn’t merge currencies so much. fractal relics shouldn’t be used in anywhere besides fractals (shouldn’t be able to make ascended weapons using relics)
however, selling pristine fractal relics for regular fractal relics does seem like a good idea (then you can sell those relics for shards or SP or gift of ascension). I’d like to use my pristine relics for that.

They should allow you to convert pristine relics to normal ones. This would make it a little less painful trying to get ascended back pieces on multiple characters.

I’d love to be able to:

a) Convert Pristine Fractal Relics to normal ones, especially since the Fractured update seems to have reduced the number of normal relics you get per run.

b) Exchange a large amount of Pristine Fractal Relics for a Fractal weapon of your choice. (My figure would be 250, but it could be higher. If you have done 250 Fractal runs and you STILL haven’t gotten the Fractal weapon you want, I think you’re entitled to get it. :P)

They could just even sell infusions to go in the infusion slot for our fractal relics. We wouldn’t have to grind and craft infusions then and …. that’s why it would never happen.
