Honest question to ANet: Why even bring the containers up into discussion about the upcoming patch if you are not going to implement them? Every single player was under the impression that containers would drop from 40+ fractals because those were considered ‘high’ pre-patch. Also weapon containers were the biggest selling point of the new fractals and the truth is just… depressing.

So it gets a response when post in the game bugs section. Graveyard subforum confirmed.

We probably have to wait one more year then until they open the level cap and can see the weapon chests… Im not getting my sword … Im just not gettin it…

They can easily add levels 51+, it’s just a number change and ideas for the instability. It’s not like they need new fractals for every bracket increase. When they talked about the boxes, they said something along the lines of them being on the harder levels. Maybe they purposely held them back to see how hard the players would find level 50 and due to only taking a few days, they decided it was too quick and therefore too easy.

With the release of ascended gear, I’m expecting level 51+ to begin greatly increasing the AR requirements. I’d also guess 51+ would be released sooner rather than later, because of the gear.

Maybe they just misled people on purpose to drum up excitement for the patch, and never actually intended weapon boxes to be in.

The time spent on remaking dredge probably pushed this off the current release.

Possibly waiting on 51+ for ascended armor to land first. Then more AR exists by default, and so does more need for higher agony… If the next patch is ascended armor, I’d expect another 10-60 levels to be released soon after.

So they get out of this one on a technicality.

No, it means: it is not dropping for the Fractal levels currently available and it is not considered a bug. So it does mean it’ll only drop in levels that are currently not available, which is 50+. For sub-50, there’s nothing to fix cause obviously, it was never meant to drop there.

I can’t believe the frigging misleading hyping about stuff like this. If we’re not supposed to get these boxes yet, Arenanet, don’t present them as a major improvement in fractals yet and don’t be vague about it. Just don’t put stuff like that in “coming soon” and patch notes. It gives false hope, is all it ever does. Bring the good news when people actually get access to stuff like this.

To me, it means “we didn’t manage to code those in time, but we’re not going to admit this, so we’ll say it’s not an error, but a feature.”
It’s still funny as one of the highlighted points of Fractured patch turned out to not be in that patch at all.

Wow this is a real pr screw up. If anet had just said the boxes were coming later everyone would have been happy at the news. Instead they created an expectation that we would get them this patch, and now everyone is angry when it was not fulfilled.

There were a lot of good ideas and content in the patch, and it should have been a real good news story. Instead the slipshod execution and bugs have left a sour taste in a lot of mouths. From wiping fractal levels without some form of recognition, to the dredge buffs, to the bugs, the underwhelming rewards, the fact there are still no titles, and now this. This really needed more work and people would have been a lot happier if they had waited for a more polished product.

By the time that happens, we’ll all be reset to level 30 again, so the “competition can begin at its earnest” again.

I wouldn’t hold my breath to any more level being released in the next 4-6 months. It wouldn’t fit in their plans in any way. Unless they’ll hold another election.

This whole situation was handled so incredibly poorly. I am trying to think of something that Anet has handled well lately and the only thing I can think of is notes for class skill changes and the open discussion from them. Maybe also the new WvW map.

This fractals patch was almost singularly disappointing.

• New players get screwed by new infusions as they don’t automatically get the +5 older-players got
• Say fractal weapons are available in boxes, don’t say that the levels that drop them aren’t in game yet
• Reduced rewards overall
• Undo many players progress (not mine)
• Made agony have more impact at lower levels

Gained

• Couple levels (that I think are pretty fun)
• Two very buggy boss battles that are a magnitude more difficult that the past boss level
• Boss battle ever fractal level (this admittedly is freaking awesome for those of us just leveling up through fractals)
