Meanwhile the boss in ‘colossus’ is still bugged.
What do you think about dredge button “fix”? For those who don’t already know: if you die on buttons you will be moved from them. So…..no more useless dying! YAY!
I mean, it’s obviously a NICE change. You can play the way it’s meant to be played. Right?
And what is this way exactly? 5 Thiefs? Guardians? Again?Anyways I’m REALLY looking forward to this fractal on higher levels with pugs and some nice mistlock instabilites. It will be a joy as always.
Wow… that’s a slap in the face for people that only pug fractals… This just shows how much anet loves heavies classes. So much for that balance.

ArenaNet, don’t you see why people died on those pads? Because it was too freaking hard to do it the way it was designed. Instead you fix the pads, and you do nothing else to the whole fractal.
I’m trying todo this on lv31 with Mossman camping my kitten , and a very coordinated group. We’re struggeling and not making it before todays daily reset.
Thanks for the frustration and I seriously hope you prove todo something with feedback, because this is just horrible.

I’m incredible dissapointed in this. Anet has been making the game worse step by step but this is by far the biggest breaking of the following rule: ’don’t fix what ain’t broke’.
What’s next? Make every dungeon even more grindy, boring, heavy armor class only? next whole pve zone, hardcore only?
Seriously Anet, you are killing the casual playfield slowly. The only reason your number crunching doesn’t bring alarm bells yet, is that there’s no other good mmo on the market. If even one is smart enough to copy the succesful things about gw2 but leave out the ‘overwrite good content, by bad content’, you guys will be trampled into the ground.

I’m really disappointed with what they have and haven’t done with the dredge fractal. I thought I remember reading at some point that they said they were going to do something about its length? Instead they add a few more mobs at the very beginning and now you can’t even die on the buttons to at least salvage something going wrong. It does seem they’ve made the dredge not spawn as fast in that room, so it’s something.
But then the rest. Just as long and tedious as always. Still so many dredge popping out of the clown car. And then the Ice Elemental seemed a bit worse. Maybe I was having an off night but I don’t remember getting successive 10k hits on my warrior before. I don’t remember the last time I’ve died on the ice elemental until tonight.
So much for any improvement. This will still be one of the worst to me.

Three thieves. No way I’m gonna ever pug fractals now though.
They also fixed safe spots in the clown car room. But the dredge are still invulnerable during spawn and can still shoot through the car. I just don’t understand why do they fix bugs that help players and don’t fix bugs that are actually annoying and bad.

I’ve always wanted to see them do the Dredge fractal at high level, without a death. Especially the “bombing of the door”.
I’d support the decision to change the pads, if the mobs are tank-able or killable whilst one guy opens the door. I strongly suspect that these mobs have not been toned down at all, however. I’ve always said that the “best way to complete content” should never, ever be through suicide.

Still the most annoying fractal.
This is a tad overdramatic. My glass cannon ranger, not exactly know for being able to tank, can change utilities for 12 seconds of invulnerability. I could even take a pig for 15 seconds. Stealth on a Longbow for 3 seconds, and I haven’t even used a heal yet. Equip a greatsword for an evade every 3 attacks after that. And so on and so forth.
Every class has a way of surviving long enough to stand on the buttons, or if it’s just totally impossible for you, you can distract the enemies attacking your friend on the button.

my class survival is based on… blinds… except dredge are immune to blinds lol

Ya.. no they wont, you dont need PvT just for that lol.
We did it with a party of mostly light armors. It aint that hard, just needs a bit of co-ordination. You gotta remember FotM is supposed to be endgame content afterall.
…the rewards on the other hand is a whole different argument.
I have never had an issue holding the button as a Glass cannon ele. I prefer not holding the buttons, but I can do it.

The button and the clown car fights feel like the most drawn out and annoying parts of this particular fractal. This doesn’t even include the bomb running with the infinite spawns part.
I got a revive when down on the pads and it didn’t close the back doors, so that’s at least one thing fixed. The mining suit also has some important chat like “I’ll kill you” that I don’t remember hearing before.
Yeah my general impression is that there are still some petulant developers who are annoyed that players are not running fractals they were designed to be played, and just try to give players a harder time with each patch. It doesn’t matter if the original design was frustrating, tedious, and seriously short of fun, the design is ‘right’ and players have to suffer as long in fractals as originally intended.
So i assume that “fix” was what they meant when they said they will look and adjust Dredge difficulty and time?

I did 30, 31, 32 today and was fairly easy, except 4th map on 32 with the molten bosses wich are OP. The old bugs are still there, I wonder what did they “fix” … Oh, got a staff skin and a Momentum Sigil drop, + a lot of rares + few exotics, so at least from this point of view A Net improved.

The clown car is what makes dredge fractal worth doing for me. I would absolutely hate it if they took that away.
Unless Im talking about a different bit, the bit with the champion dredge and his massive army of lesser dredges gives a ton of loot. Its basically a massive slaughterfest where we just stack up feedbacks and WoRs and watch loot drop everywhere.

The switch room and door along with the rest are absolutely ridiculous compared to other fractals, especially when you couple in blind and reflect immunity. I’m not sure why after a year of the dredge fractal being universally hated, ANet decided “hey, let’s make it harder and therefor longer!”.
It was already way too annoying.
Edit: on-topic, how is this even possible without abusing stealth? The only thing I can imagine is to pull all enemies to one side (but don’t kill them or they respawn), then circle back around the other side?

i mean it is well known that people been abusing every possible trick and texture to get through that map as fast as possible despite mobs dropping loot

If they wanted to fix this, the least they could do is make the buttons bigger, allowing some movement. Like, large enough to dodge on? That would be perfect.
So this basically means 95% of PuGs will break up when they get the dredge fractal. Super
Anet needs to learn that if people are exploiting their mechanics, they’re probably not fun mechanics and that should be addressed.

This dull fractal needs to go, nuke it like TA F/U.
It drags the entire fun factor of fractals down by a clown car full of numbers.
I literally dread this fractal. It’s basically the main reason I stopped playing FOTM several months ago. I groan when I hear Dessa’s line about us being underground. It’s just painful and not fun.
Well i like this map and i like to play it normally and i like the challenge tht player now get removed from platform if die on it.
I like it how we can not stand on pipe pew pew boss until he die. Weldone Anet tht u fixed this map. Looking forward to play it.

So much truths in this thread.
Way to go. Making the ONE FoTM that the majority hates even more time consuming. And this is without even considering some of the sadistic natures of new Instabilities that’d be put into place.
My major complaint is how utterly time consuming this is compared to the rest of the FotMs of the same level. I can’t imagine doing this with pugs who utterly refuses to listen.
My God this is hilarious, so Basically if we pug a lvl 44+ Fotm rolled for ages and got no swamp so we stick to water (its time consuming) , then get dredge (they fixed the lovely time reducing hax :P), then get that Molten alliance thing or that Aetherblade one, + the mistlock instabilities….and god forbid we get the Easy Maw…it’ll take about what 5 hours?
I use to run 48s with pugs and it took about 2.5hrs sometimes and sometimes more…but complaining about how long that dredge was…yielded 2 more time consuming maps…that involve those darn aetherblades that appear in everything
Go try the new dredge and then come and complain about the fix. Its a lot easier now!
I was on the left side and after we cleared the room no dredge spawned at my side to kill me same thing with the thief whos useing the mecanism to open the door, he did it without anything interupting him.

This part has always been pretty easy, and I never understood why people saw it as really difficult.
Kill one side, kite the rest and hit the switches and panel. Easy.
By the way, if you can’t PUG what’s supposed to be the hardest group content, that’s a feature, not a bug.

Actually you can do the door bombing in 2 tries without anyone dying (maybe 1 person as the decoy dies) in any fractal level (old ones, i dont know all the mistlocks). But you need 1 thief.
