At the end of Cutthroat Politics, Ellen Kiel promised to fund research into the Thaumanova Reactor incident.

But clearly in the story mode, she barged her way into Mistlock Observatory and demanded Dessa to explore that part of the Mists.

There was no payment. It was a councillor with Lionguard affiliations exerting her authority over a Consortium asset.

It would add more depth to the story if a Consortium director enters the observatory to inquire Ellen’s visit to the observatory, and by the time he arrives (after the reactor part has been visited by the player), he witnesses Ellen’s attempt to bring Dessa back for her investigation and threatens her with something along the lines of: “The Commodore will hear about this, Kiel!”

That’d be way cooler and leaves player with something to look forward to.

Kinda true, but we do have something to look forward to: figuring out what Dessa’s deal is.

It’s from her dialogue for her “instance” during the Zephyr living story where you could vote for the candidates. Evon wanted to take the aetherblade loot for himself and she wanted to return it to their respective owners.

Her fire mate might as well be the reincarnation of Satan though. I don’t think she would’ve chosen him, if Ellen Kiel herself wasn’t a tough chick.

Actually, it was easily explained at the end of the story fractal if you did not leave the starting point. Dessa tried to leave only to reappear at the entrance, spouting the same things she always does. Her lab itself, terrifyingly enough, IS A FRACTAL! SHE IS FOREVER DOOMED TO RELIVE SENDING TRAVELERS INTO THE MISTS, REPEATING THESE ACTIONS FOR ALL ETERNITY! duh duh DUH!

Dessa doesnt even recognize the fact that her portal is from LionsArch. She wouldnt want to do anything with that pirate haven. So from her point of view, what authority does Kiel have over her anyway?

Yeah, that’s Kiel for you.
I simply hate her attitude. Giving her power didn’t make things any better.

This is not a “You should have voted for Evon!” post. I don’t like him either.
