I’m so glad I voted for Kiel. I don’t want to find out that 6 Gods = Scarlet, or some other dumb excuse to put her in that fractal.

Buddy, nothing Scarlet has done so far has been even slightly justified. If ANet had made fall of abadon I guarantee she’d get shoehorned in somehow.

i love the people who voted for kiel useing the excuse “well they would have shoved her in there” when she wouldnt have excisted and the fact that that lore is set in stone so if they added here anet offices would burn

ProxyDamage, I assume you voted for Kiel, because all these responses that people give of, “She would’ve been involved somehow” are just Kiel supporters that are trying to defend their poor decisions.

Fact is, nothing Scarlet does makes sense, but at least ANet has all these things take place recently, in her lifetime, there is no way at all she would’ve been there for Abaddon, live with your poor choices, vote better next time pls.

She can have her own fractal hub and hack into our fractal.
She can have alliance with Consortium and they let her in.

I mean, we are using technology to travel back to these fractals to experience them. Dont you think arenanet would put in some stupid deus ex machina that scarlet has the same machine and goes to abadon’s to mess around and you have to stop her?

And your whole time in Abadon’s thingy you spend chasing Scarlet around trying to stop her as the Benny Hills-theme song slowly starts playing in the background. Ending in a grand finale where Scarlet teleports away, telling you her work is done.

You really dont think that is possible or that arenanet wouldnt do something like that?

I voted Kiel because i like her and Evon is a selfish unlikeable character. i dont care about fractals at all. But seeing people think that Abadon’s wouldve been the second comming of christ and it wouldve been perfect is laughable… just, laughable.

AFAIK, we do not travel back.
We take an imprint from the Mists.

We “condense” it into a solid area.

This area, as a result, resembles the area of the past.

That’s not at all, we’re firmly in the present and if I got to the imprint first I could freely mess around with it, comparable to exchanging a stored blueprint in a gov building.

I dont care how it works, all that matters is: We can be in there, so why couldnt Scarlet?
Making all the “ow if we had Abadons it would be Scarlet free”-arguments pointless. And arenet is shamelessly plugging her into everything.

I am honestly just waiting on the day we find out Scarlet is behind the Elder Dragons. Like, she was the one waking them up or something.

I feel that a lot of those ‘it would’ve been Scarlet anyways’ claims are based on false ideas of what the fractals actually are.

You don’t travel to the past, you travel to the memories of the Mist, recordings of what happened in the past. You can’t actually change what happened in the past, and a lot of things seem to be event-locked. For example, Ascalon will always fall, and the Thermanova Reactor will always blow up no matter what you do, so she can’t get herself involved with Abbadon.

I don’t know if you can take items out of the past (not shards etc), so it is possible she could show up in your fractal with her own aims, but she could not cause the fall of Abbadon:

Time-traveling itself is a huge paradox (so who changed history if the present would’ve be rewritten with the past?), which is impossible in the first place.

Haha, you wish. Of course she would be present. You know, the six gods were her minions from the start. She is the evil genius who had discovered time travel in her crib, making your “not at her lifetime” point moot. I am pretty sure that she developed the elder dragons during her experiments with quaggans from the past and also invented skill lag and the Nexon company. Her first stroke of genius would have been the invention of taxation…

Shouldn’t you be glad now that we voted for Kiel? Or would you like Abbadon’s story messed up by the whole lame Scarlet business? :p

Also, fractal choice had nothing to do with my vote – cheaper WPs and Kiel being introduced and fleshed out as our LS companion, better than some TP robber baron.

Poor game design has nothing to do with the voters. If you have a gripe, take it up with Anet for not doing a better job.

Look at how she behaved in the story instance. Threatening innocent citizens with jail, pulling out her powers as a council member in everything, and doing shady business behind the scenes to get what she wants done?

That doesn’t sound like the old Kiel we knew. It sounds like someone who let power get over her head.

What “poor decisions”? ArenaNet shoehorned Scarlet into the Thaumanova fractal, the voters didn’t but you can be kitten sure she’d have shown up in the Abaddon fractal in much the same way.

Do you want to know what we were actually voting for? We were just voting for the backdrop that the next Scarlet episode would take place in. That’s all, she was inevitable.

You can’t blame the voters for this, blame ArenaNet by all means but no one voted for Scarlet.

If we had got the Abadon fractal we would have just ended up with something like the Charr and Asura really beat Abadon (they have to explain that line about killing their Gods at the beginning of the Charr intro somehow) and the other Gods did nothing and are useless like every other stupid retcon that is insulting to the people who played GW1 for so long.

I’d rather have all fractals contain Scarlet over more retcons to GW1 lore.

Scarlet might not have been in the abadon fractal, but I can’t imagine it being better than Thaumonova. The fractal itself is pretty small, and most of the stuff in it is recycled. Could you imagine an Abadon fractal like that? It’s the same people making it, the fractal isn’t bad because it’s not abadon, it’s bad because there was little effort put in.
