2 old dungeons that shouldve been permanent
2 old boss battles that will likely be the same or slightly different
still a giant grind

revamping and using so many old resources and i would assume we were talking about WoWs cataclsym expansion

i simply yawned and exited the window

i thought since the team was done having to make resources for holidays that we would “really see” what Anet is capable of…so far its been more boring than last year

New rewards (although they do mostly suck)

This update is good and you got to appreciate that not only is free but that also Anet listened to the players and they eventually add it in the game… really if all this bothers some ppl go and play something else, in the end is just going to be a “guy who doesn`t appreciate anything” less that will not ruining everyone`s experience anymore…. This update has been asked for, for quite a while.

And yet we still get people complaining.

I’ve been waiting for an FotM update for a year. This release is probably the one I’ve been most excited for in a long while.

I didn’t yawn, but I don’t really care. Then again, I’m not a fractal runner, so…(shrugs)

Aetherblade Retreat and Molten Facility really should’ve had their own entrances outside of Fractals of the Mists. Unless we’re getting the option to choose them independently of the random rotation, I won’t care enough to see them again.

Thaumanova might be interesting….but the Invasive Weed had better not be part of that, or it’ll just annoy me. Also, it should also be independent of the random rotation. I remember how annoying it was to re-start over and over just to get the Cliffside Fractal for that kite that was somehow halfway through the level (Bit of advice: Never do that again).

Neither am I a fractal runner, (I’m secretly happy my main’s fotm level is just 33) but on the contrary this release gets me excited as the main reason I resented doing fractals was the bad rewards:time ratio. Now they are adding gold into the daily chest, along with easier fracs at the start, and higher chances of getting a fractal weapon, this is exactly the kind of update I need to get back into the fractals.

I don’t run fractals, but I do read the boards. This sounds like (with the exception of the drop to Fractal Level 30 for anyone that had passed it) a big set of improvements in an area where they were both wanted and needed.

It’s good to see this. This time the area they focused on wasn’t one that I worry about, but the next time it may be. And if they do stuff like this, then I have reason to think that there WILL be a next time. Maybe not right away, but better than never.

I also have some friends that will, I think, be very happy about these changes.

If it’s scarlet then it’s because every1 hates scarlet.
If it’s a dragon boss update it’s too hard
If it’s a new dungeon path it’s too hard
If it’s a fractal revamp + a few additions it’s boring

Personally i spend quite few money in to the gem store and you know im more than fine with that because i get a huge game to play and free content every second week which i dont mind if it is temporary, i used to play wow for 3 years, i enjoyed it but i never felt that 15 dollars per month worth it when at the same time i should also spend money for every new x-pac.

You know that if you you could take all this content at the end of the year all together it would be a huge ex-pac? you dont realize that because is not permanent and i will agree with you if you say it would be better if it was permanent, yeah there are problems with the quality also but hey theres CD going on to actually fix that… if in a couple of months from now nothing is changed there are other games out there to spend our time…

I would like them to make Crystal Desert and Ring of Fire new explorable mappable maps with new stuff. OOoooohh and seeing Muursaat wud be awesome again.

I share the sentiment. I’m biased because I don’t really like Fractals to begin with, but when I read “better rewards” I immediately thought “Too little, too late”.

I mean really, at this point, what do we even need better rewards for? The only thing slightly interesting would be ascended weapons and armor, and even then… I’d only need that gear in order to progress into a part of the game that’s providing said gear itself. It would be pretty pointless for me.
