Would like to know a-bit better about how this would work, are current regular infusion slots on ascended items not going to be used anymore for agony resistance?
not to be confused with (infused) items that have the fixed +5 AR which it is clear are going to be changed to a AR slot with +5 in it.

Basically, rings and back pieces are getting 2 infusion slots, like ascended weapons currently have.

Stuff that is already infused, will have a +5 AR infusion already in the new slot. On other stuff, that slot will be empty and be ready to be filled at your whim.

I’ve read through that myself several times and I’m still confused.

To assist you in your ventures into the mists, a new agony resist infusion slot has been added to all infused rings and backpacks.

All current infused rings and backpacks will start with a +5 agony resist infusion (this replaces the +5 agony resist that was previously on the item itself).

So the rings that I have that are infused will get a +5 AR infusion in a new separate slot.

Will the process to infuse ascended items change? (If so, how?)
Does this mean ascended rings/trinkets will all now just have an AR slot and we can add in AR there?
Does this mean my ascended sclerite backpack can now have AR?
Does this change affect ascended weapons?

There was basically a design problem in the game where ascended items had an infusion slot and you used it either for AR or a different benefit. If you chose AR for fractals then you were under performing elsewhere compared to someone who had taken a power infusion, say. This update solves that design flaw by giving ascended items a specialist AR slot. You don’t have to choose between fractal capability vs PvE/WvW capability. This should be good for players.

I don’t see anything happening different with weapons except perhaps double handers getting 2 AR slots and 2 regular infusion slots.

I am totally confused about rework of AR in ascended items. I hope they will not take away my 45 AR for which I have spent considerable time to obtain!!!!!
