So I had 5 pieces of ascended gear I hadn’t gotten around to infusing yet. Now they don’t have any agony slots. Am I sort of out of luck now? I have to re-purchase my ascended trinkets to get the new slot?

You just have to infuse your items to get the new slot. That is all. Only infused ascended gear has the agony-resistance-only slots.

Infused with the agony-resistance infusions? Or will the 5 lurel basic infusions work too?

Infused items, that is items thet have “(Infused)” in their name have been converted to have ar slots filled by +5AR. Items that you have applied an infusion are not infused. They are just items with an applied infusion.
