how much agony resistance do you need…?

If the fractal level is < 19, you don’t need agony resistance. It is nice to have from 10-19, but it is not required.

Agony damage a % of your health each second. Normal agony last 3 second, but Jade Maw Agony last for 9 seconds. At 162% HP damage you can survive with good heal (you need to heal yourself for more than 62% while being attack so if you have kitten heal you will still down, but not die.

10-19 : 0 AR
20-29: 10 AR
30-39 : 25 AR
40-49 : 45 AR

If you had a +5AR on these number then Jade Maw agony will damage you for 108% of your HP. You will still need to heal you to stay alive, but any heal skill will do the job. If you add another +5AR, then Jade Maw will do 54% damage to your HP pool so don’t need to heal yourself or take a small beating from the mobs and still survive without any problem. My initial list should be the minimum AR you need to pug in fractal.

for 10-19 5 is nice you don’t die easily if you get caught in agony, so you can just infuse one ring.

Not really sure about this now, since they will add more boss (4th level) fractals I think that both Mei Trin and the molten boss will have unblockable unavoidable agony attacks..I’m shivering at the thought…especially since Mei and her cannon buddy were a pain even in the normal dungeon I seriously hope the rewards will be awesome for that kittener lol

Don’t listen to anyone that tells you that you don’t need AR for 10-19. You need at least 5. Everyone will say “Oh you can just dodge” Have fun dodging every AR attack in the fractal run, so you don’t screw over your party by losing too much health.

Agony attacks are easy to avoid/dodge. It’s just the majority of players have issues so AR is always highly recommended. I prefer people to have near max AR for the tier since they can easily be downed in dredge fractal if we have the dredge boss.

You dont need AR for level 19 and under, All you need is good understanding of the basic’s and teamwork.
