Thanks for checking
I quit the game awhile ago (around Halloween, I think) when all my friends stopped playing, but I’m back and enjoying it as much as before. I think I would enjoy it even more if I had a consistent group of people to play with and to explain some of the newer stuff to me.
I’m looking to join a semi-casual guild on a semi-high populated server. I’m not super picky about the server, but I would probably prefer to stay out of Tier 1, and I’d definitely prefer to not be on a server that loses every week in WvWvW (I don’t mind losing, but I don’t want to feel like anything I do there isn’t helping the cause).
The perfect guild for me would be relatively small – every guild I’ve been in previous games has had under 50 people. I realize this is not realistic for Guild Wars 2, as I see “small” guilds advertising around 100 people. Still, I like a smaller group of people that enjoy each other’s company over a guild that is basically a chat room where you only recognize half the people.
I am interested in PvE, but mostly as a way to get better looking gear (and better gear for WvW). I do enjoy the dungeons, so I’m always willing to run them. However, I really enjoy the PvP in this game. I’d love to find a guild that does some semi-organized WvW (more spur of the moment than “every Tuesday at 9:00 PM we do WvW, and that’s the only time we do it” type of thing, but I’m also okay with set schedules for larger groups). I doubt I’d do well in a pure WvW guild, as I’m not dedicated enough for something like that, as much as I enjoy it
I also enjoy the sPvP and would love to be on a team that does some tournaments, but that doesn’t necessarily need to be guild focused.
I love jump puzzles with all my heart, and am always willing to do them, but I’m fine doing them solo as well.
Unfortunately, I feel way out of the loop now. I don’t know anything about Fractals, the Super Awesome Box (or whatever it’s called), etc. I know some of the original dungeons, but that’s about it. I’d love for a guild that doesn’t mind refreshing me on some of the older stuff and explaining/helping out with some of the newer stuff.
I don’t consider myself “good” at this game, but I definitely wouldn’t consider myself “bad” either. Before I quit, I think I was pretty good and usually am at least competent in the majority of games I play (except RTS games… man I am awful at those). My point is mostly that you may have to show me the ropes a little bit, but I’m not a liability.
I do have a guild in mind, but it’s on a server that appears to have recently had a fairly mass exodus of guilds and I’m afraid the server will die out, especially in WvW. I’m just keeping my options open right now!
I’m currently on Sea of Sorrows, but definitely willing to transfer for the right guild.
If you think your guild would be a good fit, please respond here or contact me in game!
PS Sorry for the wall of text, but I am pretty picky when it comes to people I hope to be playing with for an extended period of time
Edit:
I should also mention, I prefer doing a full dungeon clear to speed runs. I’m fine with speed runs if one person just needs some tokens, but when I do a dungeon, I would almost always prefer to clear everything and not just run by things that are in our way. I also refuse to exploit to skip stuff. I remember CoF being notorious for this, and I only ran it once because I couldn’t find a group that wouldn’t use the exploit :\
Second Edit:
I live in California, so I play during Pacific primetime (usually somewhere between 6:00 PM and 2:00 AM Pacific time). I work from home, so I occasionally jump on during the day when I’m not busy, but usually just to do a sPvP match or two.
