Guild Wars 2

So I have been playing Guild Wars 2 for about a month now and have found a home server which seems to be populated with a lot of players during my playing times.

My home server is Sanctum of Rall.

It’s now time I find a guild. ideally looking for a guild with fellow oceanic players in it that does PVE, dungeons & WvWvW

Aggroculture [AGGR] is an oceanic and south east based gaming community which participates in all parts of the game with a wvw focus. We currently have around 80 active Guild Wars 2 players with evenings our most active times. We are currently on Jade Quarry server which has a good amount of oceanic players so it isn’t quiet while the american guys sleep.

The Doppler Effect is an Australian guild with roughly 75% of it’s 215 members located in Oz. Our home server is Ehmry Bay.

We started as a PvE guild but we have recently begun branching out into WvW, our recent guild WvW runs were a huge success.

We have a Teamspeak 3 server and a private section on www.ehmry.com.

We run dungeon runs most nights and have between 35 and 45 members online in our busy periods (6pm to 1am Sydney time).

We have no attendance rules and we have created a friendly, helpful and laid back environment within our guild.

We are not an Australian guild by any means we are however International and are now looking to fill our ranks with a few more Oceanic players. Since we love diversity, and have members that play all hours of the day, no matter where they live, this way we get just a overall better activity in the guild.

We are a PvX guild, with an active WvW team (we even have a morning crew, which ends up playing at Australian Prime time hours). Some people are also building a sPvP team right now (we even have an officer for it!)

Just out of curiosity provac/chappy have you considered merging guilds? It seems you both have around half or less of a max guild size, and pooling your players would seem beneficial.

Of course, groups always have certain investments in their own guild/brand/community so I understand why this doesn’t often happen. But I often find myself wishing that the Australian gaming population was a little less splintered.

I’m looking for an AU guild myself, I’ve been with a small international guild since launch but there’s rarely folks on in my timezone except for one close friend. Makes it hard to organize parties for dungeons and fractals and such.

On launch we had 150 active members and we had 30-40 active people on every night. The key to success of a guild is not 500 members, its members who are willing to contribute and build a community. Quality over Quantity. Recently we have had a quiet patch with the holidays, but since we starting focusing on recruitment we are now sitting at over 90 active members and with 15-20 people online each night. Last night we had groups doing AC, SE, CoE, CoF, FoTM and WvW. Jade Quarry has a great oceanic population which is PvX based. I’m not sure about Emery Bay, but I know that our WvW goals will not align with that server.

Yeah i think the problem there would be the different servers.

Also a guild merge might seem like a good idea to begin with, but while you can merge members you can never really merge leadership. You would not have a merged guild, you would have 2 guilds mashed together with 2 different reporting structures and differing allegiances.
This eventually results in the guild fracturing and breaking up, likely putting a downer on the game for all involved.

Your choice of server will ultimately depend on how much importance you place on WvW. If you mainly enjoy PvE and only want to play WvW recreationally, then you are better off going to a server which has a lower WvW ranking. If you are a hardcore WvW’er you are better off going to a server with a higher ranking.
